Not listened to the first in Meghan's podcast series, a conversation with the founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Heard, but the Mail has collated all the press reviews so far, with links. The Guardian, Telegraph and i-Paper are unanimous: the podcast is cloyingly dreadful.

The reviews for Meghan Markle's latest podcast are in! Two stars for Confessions of a Female Founder https://mol.im/a/14584193 via https://dailym.ai/android

Uncharacteristically, I feel the need to point out that my earlier deleted post was nothing about 'making fun of miscarriages' and was merely a comment on how removed from reality things were getting. It pisses me off that I feel I have to post this in the first place, and that the lunatic fringe have been permitted to fling themselves around on this thread, practically unchecked, all afternoon instead of being gently ushered off somewhere to lie down with a flannel on their forehead.

Don't order me around and I will.

I'm not seeing much in the media about the content, the business funding content, of the podcast. At least Archerypes got a few articles written about what she was discussing. Are there any reviews?

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 15/04/2025 18:41

LipglossAlly · 15/04/2025 18:28

I had one post deleted which was quoted multiple times, the other posts were the ones that I reported and one that I did not even have to report.

I will also add that my only post which was deleted was regarding a screenshot of a comment that I found particularly disturbing and which goes against the guidelines. I have also explained that the screenshot was done in order to be able to put in a complaint in writing with clear examples of what in my opinion is a dismissive attitude towards pregnancy loss. As a parenting website it was for theme to decide how to proceed.

You’ve had three posts deleted on page 16 alone, so that’s a straight up lie. Take a look at your own posts and how they rule break before posting on the state of others. Leave it to Mumsnet to police!

There were a flurry after the first episode, mostly UK based I think, but I haven’t seen anything new for the second except the ones reporting the miscarriage comments. It’s not doing well in the charts apparently.

wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting · 15/04/2025 18:43

And a lot more that should have been! Like we can't see for ourselves.

Heyho, tell us more you who have suffered through the insufferable?? Were there any other gems?

Although I wasn’t posting earlier I was however reading and I and anyone else already knew that your post didn’t contain anything about making fun of miscarriage!
getting posts deleted and then claiming they said things that they didn’t is a very old trick on mn .

Isn't it obvious that there's nothing wrong with the posts?

Rhaidimiddim · 15/04/2025 18:53

Did we learn anything useful from last week's guest or this week's about founding a business?

How the menz must be chuckling - all these successful business ladies, but all they go on about are their lady problems.

JADS · 15/04/2025 18:53

Back to the podcast, this isn't a business podcast. I know there were a few posts saying that Meghan was a good interviewer but I don't think she is. It's not incisive, there was a bit about Bumble's share price tanking and Meghan doesn't ask any difficult questions, it's all about letting go and bottling your essence.

Reshma Saujani and Girls Who Code sound interesting, but I'm not sure I can wade through the treacle to get there. When Meghan giggles and talks about "girl talk" in the trailer, that should have been a clue. I had hopes for this output being part of a more cohesive set up, but as ever it's just all a bit dull. I always feel like Meghan is trying to hold something back.

You'd hope itvwas the type of thingbthat would get noticed and result in a suspension/ ban.

LipglossAlly · 15/04/2025 18:58

As always , it is opposite day on these threads. Not surprised.

Anyway, Mumsnet confirmed that they are a post- moderated forum hence why they rely on reports to see what is going on on the boards so many times you do have to actively report comments that do not comply with the guidelines. Now I understand many things

This is what annoys me about this, too, and it's really undermining for women in the workplace when other women seem to only want to talk about 'business' through the prism of 'having a vagina'. Perhaps I am of a different generation, but when I started out in the workplace it was considered appalling to excuse any lapses in professionalism by saying things like, 'I have PMT' or 'I've got my period' or 'It must be the menopause'. You just bloody well got on with it.

MNHQ did a knee jerk reaction.

We were all witness to all the lies and gaslighting this afternoon.

no, work and private lives should be separate.

Exactly. When I started out, we wore trousers suits, flat shoes and wanted to be taken seriously. Telling everyone in the office that you were utterly deranged for one week a month did you no favours, so we didn't. Then suddenly everyone was teetering around in heels, little skirts and tight tops and talking about how feminist they were because they put tampons in the unisex loo.

StrawberryWasp · 15/04/2025 19:15

The way MM talks about motherhood is weird.

She looks at photos of them constantly when they're not in the same room.
And can't have a bath or do exercise because she just wants to cuddle them all the time.

That is either made up fake bullshit that she thinks is how loving mothers act or she is insane and obsessed with her children in a damaging way.

It's presumably the first option as she seems to manage to fly around promoting herself whilst tolerating separation from her kids longer than a bath would take.

She's such an obvious liar. It's really really weird.

Jack Monroe always used to tweet about how people were telling her to slow down, take it easy, that she did too much etc. but she just couldn’t help herself. Of course she’s now been outed as a complete fraudster. Meghan gives me the same vibes with her claims of Harry telling her to go have a bath or do something for herself. We have all seen for ourselves how often she does manage to pull herself away from those children.
