With this new authentic Insta post where Meghan positions herself as a go between in securing some signed merchandise I think there's still plenty to discuss.
This is a new image. No make up. Carefully edited insta. New lips. Is this influencer territory? Mention of " my husband and l " Echoes of the Queen ?

I was wondering about 'my husband and I'. Is she trying to echo the Queen or is she trying to minimise Harry, which she frequently does to other people eg QEII = 'your grandmother'.

This is her happy place, performing for a camera. I’m not sure who she’s performing for though. Too much has gone before for people who already know (of) her to change their opinion. I can’t see where new followers would be drawn from, or why.

The other observation I have is that she’s playing a much younger woman than she is for this video. So it seems she’s ditched the serious humanitarian persona in favour of something much less substantial.

Perhaps it will work but it seems from this as though she’s still struggling to find who or what she is.

I was wondering what was different about her face . So has she had lip fillers ?
Not sure why she is doing things like this as she is naturally a good looking woman.

I don’t know why - but although she’s done a nice thing, I still find it performative and false
I don’t mean to be nasty - I am just observing what I feel.
I don’t know if I’m just being unfair to her, or if I’m being genuine in my observations
It may just be that she’s American and for me there’s a culture divide. I’m Scottish and not that effusive.

Accidentally I think she has highlighted that she’s not a big enough celebrity to contact Billie Eilish herself.

I find myself to be quite confused about the video. She’s being nice obviously but it feels overdone.

In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter.
I really don’t want to be mean about Meghan herself - I’m talking about her performance in the video. She absolutely did a kind thing.

I read that people who try to disassociate themselves from others do not use names. Mind you this was about serial killers and psychopaths. I'm not saying Meghan is one of those. It shows how they are irrelevant.

She did a kind and thoughtful thing for sure. However lots of people (normal and celebrities) do these things all the time and don't feel the need to tell others about it. My dh recently managed to get a shirt signed by Mo Salah using a contact of his to cheer up the son of a friend who is having a crap time at the moment. He didn't post it on social media and he was embarrassed when the boy kept thanking him. He just wanted to do a good thing.
M could have easily just passed the things along and thanked the people who made it possible privately.

Billie Eilish and Meghan are represented by the same agency (WME). Seems like a publicity stunt to me.

It could be both (a stunt and a nice gesture) but it’s hard to shake off the feeling of an agenda. This may be the hand of Ashley.

I think it was a kind thing to do, but it's clearly also PR and trying to rehab their/her image after the accusations of being disaster tourists.

It was a highly curated and heavily edited video pretending to be a spontaneous dialogue.

But that's IG - all the influencers are carefully edited, lit and posed. And this is the role that Meghan clearly feels most comfortable in, she's gone back to her Tig days. It was successful for her and she clearly enjoys it. IMO this is the most authentic and real Meghan - carefully posed, quite gushy, wants everyone to love her and know how much of a "sincere good person" she is, who name drops and pretends to be a goofy, nerdy type when she's actually the opposite. I think that's her - I know people who are exactly the same.

In meghan’s current world (celebrity/influencer) everything needs to be posed, edited and turned into content. It comes across as insincere even if the initial idea was well intentioned.

It's just a bit gross using a horrific natural disaster to try and get yourself a bit of fluffy PR. I mean people died ffs, thousands lost everything. Meanwhile here's Meghan gurning away in her mansion, pretending to be spontaneous and natural in a heavily produced video, trying to convince everyone how just sooo totes adorbs and connected she is.

Meeting the family at the burnt out shell of their home , when you shouldn't even be there in the first place , isn't something I would like to broadcast!

Apparently more knowledgeable people than me have pointed out that Altadena was in quarantine when this visit took place , residents were not allowed to return to their homes!

Apparently, BE has only recently signed on with WME, so it could be a promotional push to "launch" her. Why they think MM is the one to do it though, with her poor reputation, is beyond me; especially as BE is a bona fides star.

If I was her I wouldn't have chosen to remind everyone of the disaster tourism narrative. Whether or not it was true the narrative really took hold and it had finally died down.

I thought the victims all over the LA area were not allowed back to their homes? It was discussed (very tensely) at the press conference Trump was at with the Mayor of LA Karen Bass c. 24th Jan. They were talking about permits, the potential long waits to start sifting & clearance, and the need for police escorts for residents to visit over the whole LA area.

The 'stay away' edict was due to alleged 'hazardous waste', and applies to the whole area, not just Palisades.

i think it is the reverse, Billie Eilish is an icon, she has 121 million followers on instagram, she is a different era to MM, who is old enough to be her mother.

My daughter and all her friends are mega fans of her.

So many edits / cuts for a 1 min 36 video pretending to be spontaneous & authentic.
