Are Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lili coming back home?

It would be nice to have them back and getting along with the rest of the family, what do people think? They'd have to apologise and try to move forward in a positive way. With Charles being unwell and elderly, and the Wales kids too young to serve as working royals, the Sussex's may be needed. Trump may win the election, which could have a negative impact on them and Archie will start school soon, a great time to relocate home?? Apparently Meghan is looking for PR agencies to help her improve her image. Would the Uk welcome them?

I think where they live now is “home”

BoohooWoohoo · 07/03/2024 19:01

It’s rumoured that they could come back for a visit because Birmingham wants to host a future Invictus Games but I agree with the pp that California is their home (with Canada being a previous home )

NotMyPage · 07/03/2024 19:04

I'm no fan of theirs I must admit, especially the bullying of Kate. But IF they managed to work through their problems, they would provide useful pairs of royal hands.

Why would they return to a country they had to “ flee” from because the press were so horrible ? Why would they want anything to do with a family who made racist comments and who didn’t treat them as the stars they are ?
According to their supporters they are living their best life so why would they want to return here ?
It would be a brave PR person who tried to turn around H and M’s reputation in the U.K. !

CrispsandCheeseSandwich · 07/03/2024 19:09

Why would they want to? I don't dislike the royals, or Harry and Meghan, but you couldn't pay me to be in Kate's position. Watching the speculation around Kate's health right now would definitely put me off returning even more if I were Meghan.
Obviously they are still in the public eye, but if either of them needed major surgery, or had any kind of health issue, I bet they could do it more under the radar.

Tontostitis · 07/03/2024 19:09

I don't think it would ever work and not many want her back she'd be booed at every event.

HeddaGarbled · 07/03/2024 19:12

Not a chance, IMO.

ChanelNo19EDT · 07/03/2024 19:13

I'd be surprised.

GalileoHumpkins · 07/03/2024 19:13

Who would it be nice for? So much has been said on both sides that it's probably not something they even want to do.

MrsMitford3 · 07/03/2024 19:14

I don't think Meghan ever felt at home here and harry gave interviews even pre Meghan saying how unhappy he was. He wanted out too.

Can't believe they would ever move back if any of what they said in interviews about how they felt/were treated etc was true.

Why on earth would they want to???

taxguru · 07/03/2024 19:15

The only way for Harry to come "home" is if their marriage breaks down. There's no way the British public nor some members of the Royal Family will accept Megan in an official capacity. If Harry returns on his own, he "may" get accepted in the fullness of time as there will be a level of sympathy and understanding of being taken for a mug by Megan which will mean most people will eventually forgive him for his actions.

TwistedAdmin · 07/03/2024 19:15

Ugh god no i pray they stay away i already hear too much about them itd be worse if they were on the doorstep

roastedrapidly · 07/03/2024 19:16

They've made it very clear their distain for the UK, Harry's family and the monarchy, they've made California home now and supposedly very happy there. Why on earth would they try to return?

TheSnowyOwl · 07/03/2024 19:17

Where they currently live is home. I imagine Archie considers himself to be American whilst Lily and Meghan are. The U.K. isn’t their home and is probably unlikely to ever be.

AutumnCrow · 07/03/2024 19:17

Invictus itself also has an issue to address regarding the inclusion of the Israeli IDF contingent, not least in Birmingham.

Even fluffy Eurovision is creaking at the seams with the inclusion of Israel, and Lyricgate.

Irrespective of what people think about the politics and ethics of it (and there are dozens of threads about these matters to read and in which to take part), it would be naive to think that there won't be any kind of potential reputational issue and potential controversy for Invictus.

YourWinter · 07/03/2024 19:17

The Oprah interview is very fresh in the minds of TV viewers. It will be years before the spare will be welcomed into any role here, his wife couldn’t be more disrespectful if she tried. Good riddance.

underthebun · 07/03/2024 19:17

I think they are "needed" as RF numbers are dwindling but why would they even consider it?!

Prydddan · 07/03/2024 19:18

Could they possibly be deployed as working royals? Visiting dignitaries need to be confident that their chat and behaviour at formal/state events will remain private and not end up in Spare 2.

Nw22 · 07/03/2024 19:20

I don’t think they could. The royal family couldn’t trust them not to sell stories/write a new book. And I think they might get booed, as a pp said.

Not really the point of the thread, but Birmingham is bankrupt. They’re putting up council taxes by nigh on 20% over the next two years. They can’t afford to host Invictus

If the royals need more hands they can draft in extended family. They don’t really “need” anyone in particular just for numbers

They were booed at Invictus in Canada the other week.

Spendonsend · 07/03/2024 19:23

I cannot imagine anything that would drag me away from a lovely life in california to put up with all the crap here.

I don’t think they are needed at all but also fully aware they are not wanted by many, so are unlikely to consider it.

pipsfromthefuture · 07/03/2024 19:24

They are home. Leave them alone.
