Part 4 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

Not surprised if people keep trying to derail it. Why bother trying to just have one thread that wants to focus on something positive but no they have to come and derail it.

StickyWickets · 18/03/2024 22:23

No, It doesn’t appear to be possible to have a single thread that wants to focus on something positive I agree, but perfectly acceptable to have a thousand spouting utter bull. Go figure!

I figured it was quiet because Meghan hasn't been out and about, and everything recent has been discussed, so nothing to discuss on my end at the moment!

Does anyone know what the photo in the article above is from? I don't recognise it. She looks gorgeous and I adore the hat.

pipsfromthefuture · 18/03/2024 22:38

I think it's from a Remembrance Service in the UK in 2019 I think @GrouchyKiwi . She watched Harry lay a wreath. I agree, one of my favourite photos of her, outfit, hair, makeup were 100% that day!

Yes, I agree Pips, but I’m too lazy to Google and confirm. It is a lovely pic of Meghan though.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/03/2024 22:48

Thank you! It's a lovely colour on her.

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 23:04

Yes, people do try to derail the positive threads. Works sometimes, sadly.

AliceOlive · 18/03/2024 23:05

It is a beautiful color.

I suspect you might not have to wait too much longer. With Kate & Will being seen out, what’s the betting we’ll get a car parkle shot in the next day or two? Wonder what she’ll be wearing?

TogetherNormanDouglas · 19/03/2024 10:10

A white floaty dress.

Roussette · 19/03/2024 10:21

Ahhh yes of course, Meghan should stay indoors for the foreseeable future. Well, certainly until Kate is out and about and normal has returned to the RF
Because if she dares show her face before then, she's doing it to gain attention
Silly me, forgot the rules!

Its bizarre to think a woman cannot just live her life without people constantly thinking her every move is some kind of counter-move to a sister in law in another country. It's ridiculous. As for organised pap shots, I thought that particular criticism might fade now that clearly Kate and William have been doing the same.

Launching her new website on the day of the Diana Awards - poor choice
Both being overshadowed by the ridiculous wave of conspiracy theory about the Waleses - bad luck

That the ridiculous wave looks all set to continue high, with no doubt extra peaks around Easter - also bad luck

The Sussexes do have a bit of a history of popping up in the media (whether on purpose, accidental-done-a-purpose, or complete accident) on days when there are other events, so it's left an impression that they are competing for attention. That impression may well be wrong, but it's not helped by things like the choice of Diana Award day.

I hope that next announcements/events will be on days when there really isn't anything else going on. Then perhaps the idea of dogged competitiveness from the Sussexes will begin to ebb

MaturingCheeseball · 19/03/2024 11:53

I don’t think they do things to compete necessarily, but the launch was to piggyback on the Diana thing.

However I’ve just remembered when, on the day that ds was born, sil presented the pil with a giant Venture photography portrait of her dcs. Ds born in the morning, by the afternoon sil had rushed over to pil, on a random Wednesday, with framed picture. Of course it could have been a coincidence…

Roussette · 19/03/2024 12:39

I suppose it all depends on whether you get on with your SIL !

Funnily enough, something has just happened with mine (who I get on.with superficially) and I am agog! I can't go into it, but needless to say she will never ever be able to criticise my family for this ever again! It's highly amusing!
Who'd have 'em!!

Earlier this week, Meghan and Harry were out and about, supporting the exhibition of The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection at Sofi Stadium, via Archewell.

Good Morning America has a nice story on the Kinsey Collection here (especially for those of you who were interested in the DC National Gallery a few weeks ago!):

Meghan's wearing a Carolina Herrera number

"Meghan graced the occasion in an elegant black jacket adorned with delicate white floral patterns from Carolina Herrera, paired with dark trousers and black suede flats." (from whatmeghanwore)

Another poster said it reminded them of a Hilary Clinton suit, and that's also the first thing I thought of!

OP posts:
Spectre8 · 23/03/2024 17:31

I never realised the difference in height between them

WibblyWobblyJane · 23/03/2024 17:33

Reminds you of a septuagenarian’s suit? Thought this was meant to be a “positive”thread.

Roussette · 23/03/2024 17:35

Well...I'm nearly one of those and I'm very stylish I'll have you know
Your post is ageist

WibblyWobblyJane · 23/03/2024 17:39

I’d think anyone rational at any age could admit they wouldn’t expect someone 30 years younger to share their taste in clothing.
