Part 2 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

I always think that Meghan does casual really well. I don't think I've seen her hair in a plait before, it looks nice though she should do that more often.

She does look really thin though, which may be the leggings or the angle, I hope that the stress of yet another tabloid feeding frenzy isn't getting to her. It must be so hard to be photographed when you would probably rather be left alone.

Well you do reap what you sow...of course there is going to be extra special interest in her right now after the OS book. It's inevitable though. She actually looks emaciated compared to how she used to look when in Suits. There have been several articles about how thin she is and how possibly it is stress leading to this.

Meghan Markle's Weight Loss Transformation in Photos

Meghan Markle has had quite a weight loss transformation after two back-to-back pregnancies followed by a dramatic slim down in 2023 that concerned fans.

Exactly @skullbabe

I remember when she was not seen or heard of for nearly 5 months. The threads on here didn't stop. The continual haranguing of her in the media didn't stop. Hell... there were even threads entitled 'Where is Meghan?' and 'What is Meghan doing'

You (and I mean a collective 'you', not you specifically Derxa) cannot, just cannot leave her alone. Posters have to be chasing after her, criticising her, bringing up anything from the past, digging dirt, making up stuff, and yet she was quiet at the time!

If she goes quiet, nothing stops. She is deliberately goading the RF because she walked to a car! Nothing stops the feeding frenzy..the gutter press, the threads, the forums, youtube,... nothing. But people enable this, it's a sport, they want to see her so they can cast her as the arch villain.

p.s. @derxa she wasn't laughing at the RF! She was walking to a car and talking animatedly.. what the fook is wrong with that!

Roussette · 05/12/2023 16:19

@mrsmingleton

If I posted that Kate looked 'emaciated' I would be rounded on, and flamed. Repeatedly. And my post would be reported and removed.

BTW, she was pregnant in that first pic.

queentim · 05/12/2023 16:19

Meghan's not at the centre of a serious controversy, the two named as the royal racists, Charles and Kate, are.

Meghan can walk about, smile, and do as she pleases. I'd be laughing too.

@Roussette I didn't write the article. There are many more to choose from.

TallerSally · 05/12/2023 16:21

Folks, I sense that some posters are attempting to turn this thread into yet another irrational Meghan bash-fest.

She should NEVER smile in public!
She is ARRANGING to be papped!
She should STAY AT HOME when there is RF controversy!
She looks too THIN!
Bla Bla Bla!

I suggest not taking the bait...

derxa · 05/12/2023 16:22

Gosh. That's shocking

@Roussette I didn't write the article. There are many more to choose from.

You might not have written that article. But you did say this...
She actually looks emaciated compared to how she used to look when in Suits.

It's OK to say that about Meghan then? But not about Kate? I have seen posters absolutely pilloried for saying she's too thin. Emaciated is one step too far.

skullbabe · 05/12/2023 16:31

But that's not the point. She's at the centre of a serious controversy. What is there to laugh about? It's just not funny.

No - she is not at the centre of a controversy. The RF are. She is not laughing ffs - she is walking, talking and smiling with her companion. Should she walk around scowling when people speak to her? Just give it a rest honestly.

The trouble with trying to claim the moral high ground on this kind of point is that anyone can go a search and see that you have in fact called other women emaciated and skeletal. Just not Kate or Meghan.

Roussette · 05/12/2023 16:34

Who have I called that? Do refresh my memory.

Not Kate. I wouldn't dare.

mrsmingleton · 05/12/2023 16:34

TBH with you @Roussette I was shocked by how thin she was in that photo this morning and yes she looks emaciated. If I thought that about Kate then I would say so too. I think both of these women put pressure on themselves to project a picture perfect image. Say what you want to say. I imagine she is under a great deal of pressure just now - in fact in general.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/12/2023 16:36

When I see pictures like the one with Meghan in the cap (and smiling) I understand how we're supposed to believe that no one recognises Clark Kent with glasses on. I'd never have worked out that was Meghan without the caption!

Roussette · 05/12/2023 16:37

@Serenster

Well done you! Victoria Beckham. Good find.

No I won't give it a rest thanks
As for commenting on women's bodies. I think that's unacceptable.

I don't think emaciated is the right word.

I think she does look thinner than usual but as I said in my post that could be down to what she is wearing. I would be surprised if the stress people in the public eye are under doesn't lead to weight loss.

MrsLeonFarrell · 05/12/2023 16:55

I once saw Diana, not at an event, I was coming back from lunch with a friend and there was a small crowd outside a random building. We stopped because they told us Diana was inside, she came out at the point and I was struck with how different she looked in the flesh. We can't always gauge things from photos.

Roussette · 05/12/2023 16:58

As an aside.... I know someone who met Kate Moss years ago. She was struck at how tiny and how beautiful she was. She said she was 'ethereal' which I think accounts for how sought after as a model she was. My friend was taken aback by her beauty.

Samcro · 05/12/2023 17:03

I think there is a lot of pressure for them to be thin.
I am old enough to remember when there was a lot of talk about Diana’s weight.
she seemed to look better when she was no longer in the royal family. Sarah , well she got called awful names, because she wasn’t thin.
yet here we are and the word emaciated is used. I would have hoped we had moved on by now.

Daisyislazy · 05/12/2023 19:27

I'm sure there were stories about Diana having an eating disorder

parksandrecs · 05/12/2023 19:34

The pressure to be thin must be horrendous. I don't think commenting on someone's weight is acceptable, including the 'concerned' articles such as Hilary Mantel about the PoW.

pinkmont · 05/12/2023 20:14

Kate Moss ........ derail, no ?😉

It is interesting though how celebs such as Meghan, can absolutely go underground for months on end when they chose to, and then suddenly reappear for a 'pap' shot in some random location. There is no way it's a coincidence.

Harry rarely gets papped unless he is with Meghan and they never ever get papped with their children, so they know how to avoid it when they need to.

Roussette · 05/12/2023 20:45

Derail? oh my goodness... that's a bit desperate!

Please report me for a derail.... please!

pinkmont · 05/12/2023 21:19

Tongue in cheek comment really, hence the wink emoji. Derails don't bother me, I know it often bothers you though, as I often see you call it out when it happens.

It was very well known. Stress does terrible things to people.
