Part 2 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

Yes, it's lovely she complimented the people behind the scenes.

Yes it is, and they've all had nice things to say about each other over the years and she's close friends with some of her colleagues from the show to this day. I remember the strong defence of her by Patrick J Adams too. She looks gorgeous at the variety event :) love her outfit.

I love the beige off one shoulder dress, that really suits her. Not so keen on totally strapless but that's just me! I think the beige dress is soooo classy.

It is an unusual design that can be worn as off one shoulder, off both shoulders or with both shoulders covered and a drapey neckline. I don't think I ever seen a dress .like that. I love the overall shape. Very elegant. I think I like it best with the shoulders covered and drapey neckline but the other ways or wearing are also very stylish.

ALittleTeawithmilk · 18/11/2023 09:05

Oh I like the idea of being able to wear it over both shoulders with a drapey neckline too @meercat23

I’m not a big fan of one shouldered dresses, but Meghan does look really good in that dress. It is a beautiful design for sure. She looks great in plain straight lines, and she wears monochrome well.

Medlady · 18/11/2023 10:43

I prefer her in more vivid colours, I must say. But the fit was impeccable and she’s in great shape to show it off

I did think it was a pity that the lining was bright white though. In full length pics you can clearly see it and it spoils the overall effect

mrsmingleton · 18/11/2023 10:46

There's discussion of this dress on Style and Beauty.

queentim · 18/11/2023 12:42

I love this look, she does neutrals really well. Even her makeup she's nailed it!

I agree with you @ALittleTeawithmilk about the simple clean lies

I do think Meghan is good at wearing a no make up make up look.

Yes, I think I prefer it on her. I can't stretch to the price of that dress, but I am getting the earrings for Christmas! They'r pretty reasonably priced :)

queentim · 21/11/2023 06:22

Harry and Meghan enjoying a Canucks game, scouting venues for Invictus 2025 apparently!

I haven't seen a full outfit, but I assume very casual and covered up in a hockey arena

They look v cute cuddled up though

mrsmingleton · 21/11/2023 11:03

That momentary flick of the eyes to the screen "is the camera on me?" 😉

Roussette · 21/11/2023 12:25

Gosh... Meghan moving her eyes now is a crime, you couldn't make it up!

TallerSally · 21/11/2023 13:44

Quite funny to see Harry do the puck drop and the parallels being drawn with QEII doing the same thing in 2002...

https://people.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-surprise-vancouver-canucks-game-invictus-games-8404274

(I can just imagine some folks in royal palaces and elsewhere seething at being 'blindsided' by Harry's audacity in continuing to do his and Meg's philanthropy work without their permission, and even drawing parallels with the Queen!... LoL)

Anyway, back to the main point of it all, i.e good publicity for Invictus, and for its first ever winter games in 2025. Should be lots of fun to watch - and I hope they do a Heart of Invictus season 2 in the run up to it, I'm sure there are more hugely inspiring stories to tell about the competing vets and their families.

Meghan was at back at Justice for Girls yesterday, a Vancouver-based non-profit that advocates for the rights of girls aged 12-18 living in poverty to access education and live free from violence.

Much needed particularly at this time when women's rights, including to their reproductive health, are increasingly under threat all over the world.

On another level, Michelle Obama, Melinda Gates and Amal Clooney were out in Southern Africa yesterday talking about their organisations joining the fight to end child marriage, a scourge all over the world (including in the US).

Good to see women, however affluent or powerful, using their platform, voice and money to support endeavours that will make a difference to the lives of those less privileged.

@ALittleTeawithmilk thanks for that, I do love to see and learn about these great organisations for girls.

ALittleTeawithmilk · 22/11/2023 22:32

It wasn’t me who posted it @Iwantcakeeveryday , it was TalllerSally.

But yes, thank you to Taller Sally for the link. I’m also interested. There are so many neglected and overlooked groups of people in countries that are wealthy in comparison to the rest of the world. Charities doing the jobs of governments.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 23/11/2023 11:07

Oh sorry @TallerSally and thank you!

Roussette · 05/12/2023 07:59

Wow... the word smiling in capitals lol. How very dare she ever smile again! (not clicked on article)

She rocks a baseball cap I have to say....

mrsmingleton · 05/12/2023 08:15

I'm guessing that it is all taking a toll on her too as she is so very slender compared to how she was before unless she is in the Hollywood size zero frame of mind.

derxa · 05/12/2023 08:28

On another level, Michelle Obama, Melinda Gates and Amal Clooney were out in Southern Africa yesterday talking about their organisations joining the fight to end child marriage, a scourge all over the world (including in the US). On another level indeed. I heard interviews with them on the BBC's 100 Women. So articulate and powerful. Especially Amal
