Part 2 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports.

I agree. However half of my clothes have holes in them. I prefer to spend my money on sheep. £4000 last month. Where do Meghan and Kate keep all these clothes and what happens to the stuff they don’t want? Meghan can wear what she wants but I think Kate doesn’t need all these horrible coat dresses.

I wouldn't dream of spending £1,300 on a dress, I'm a TK Maxx girl and have had some cracking bargains there. (Best one was a dress that I picked up off the floor under the rails, and it was originally hundreds and it had a red sticker on it for £12!)
Your sheep investment sounds spot on !

I think the coat dress habit might have changed since the Queen has gone, I just feel that Kate is more finding her own style now which is great.

I am not talking about Meghan for the last time. Of course, she can spend what she wants on clothes. It just got me thinking if I was a multimillionaire would I spend that much money on a sundress. It’s hard for me to imagine that’s all.

It's the mega expensive frocks teamed with darling cheapo totes to demonstrate one is relatable that jars. Not just the Sussexes, if for example I saw one of the rf wandering along in designer clothes with a 'make poverty history' tote I'd find that equally jarring. Oh wait, that was the Harry's wife too.

Yes. However when I was 7 stone lighter I bought lots of new clothes. Amal Clooney is always beautifully dressed and I’m sure spends loads. But it always seems worth it. Did people moan about Diana’s many outfits? I don’t think so. So many questions

No they didn't maybe they would have if she had her lippy and purse in a bag for life .

😂I think that’s the jarring bit. I’m sure that Diana’s bags and jewellery were always expensive and in good taste. Kate sometimes wears very cheap earrings and I always think ‘Why?’

I wonder if it's to make her more relateable, given Kate would know they'd be reported on.

It must be fab to have emeralds, sapphire, diamond, and every sort of valuable earrings to be able to wear.

With Diana it was the 80s - excess spending and bigger the better consumerism was the in thing, along with shoulder pads.

It doesn’t make her more relatable. I just worry about her poor ears.

There was also the Sloane Ranger style. I remember wearing the stripy blouses, pearls and flat shoes.

I still have some shoulder padded clothes from the 80s 🫣

My wedding outfit had shoulder pads. The photos are funny. All shoulder pads and big hair

My wedding dress was very similar to Fergie’s and I even had the same flower headband. I loved it The dress hangs in my wardrobe. But I couldn’t get into it because even when I lost a huge amount of weight years later.

I think if you read the article, they reference the photo taken of the Sussexes walking away (the one with the Chloe patchwork dress in ivory) but they can print it because they don’t have the rights, so they printed the one from 2018 instead

Often these dresses are given for free by the designers to the celebrity to promote their brand.

That would tie in with the shot being staged......although it then doesn’t necessarily add up with The DM only having the rights to the photo - as suggest H&M wouldn’t agree to that — however everyone has their price and as Mail Online has one of the biggest global reaches - maybe the designer insisted on it?

I remember in th 80's our earrings, necklace, belt, bag and shoes all matched, the brighter the better. The blue eye shadow just set it all off to perfection.

I was a kid in the 80s but still have a few bits that my folks saved from when I was bridesmaids and parties etc but I love the 80s and I’m sure you all looked equally as fabulous as Fergie and Di!!!

This is the derailing stuff we need not why is Meghan on holiday without the kids 😆😆
