Just a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the Princess of Wales' fab outfits and some of the many great causes she supports.

I absolutely love this green suit, which she wore on Tuesday in Leeds

Princess Kate's affordable chunky gold necklace is the ultimate cool-girl accessory

I am bewildered that you think Catherine has been influenced by Meghan . It is quite clear that her style has changed as she has become more comfortable in her role and especially since HM died . As someone else commented , HM didn’t like women wearing trousers for official duties .
Whilst Meghan looks great in jeans/ shirt combo , her more formal outfits were very hit or miss plus so many outfits simply didn’t fit her properly . I have a friend who was a professional seamstress and she used to despair at some of the poorly fitting clothes.

Bewildered is quite a strong reaction.

It is quite obvious that Kate's recent styling has been influence by Meghan.

Meghan had some misses as she tried to figure out her style and experiment while in England, and Kate has some misses as she tries to update and experiment with her current style.

I think all women have hits and misses as they try and find their styling, and that is ok.

Seriously, give it up. It's nothing to do with ETHICS.

I'm talking clothes here. Simples.

parksandrecs · 08/12/2023 21:58

Yes, I realise you are.

I am trying to explain why I - mistakenly - thought otherwsie

MissTrip82 · 08/12/2023 22:01

A professional seamstress ‘despaired’ at the clothes worn by a woman she’s never met hahahahahaha good grief. Ridiculous.

Kate always looks good. She’s an attractive woman with a lovely figure, even the things that I don’t like still look fine on her. I think the same is true of Meghan. Both evidence that being really lovely looking lets you get away with bad outfits sometimes!

Yep! And their fab figures. I remember my thin days with great fondness and like anyone else on here... not realising what it was !

I wonder what her style is like when she goes out privately, on a girls night out, a date night or a night out with other couples or out with her family. Does she have a completely different style, I don't think I have ever seen photos of her out and about doing personal socialising. I wonder does she pull out the coat dress for a nice fancy lunch with the girls?

We've seen a little of her private style. Far more casual jeans and sometimes casual dresses. Like when she went out for ice cream with the kids, or recently at the concert at the Cholmondeley's. There was once she was papped out and about in this pretty light blue jumper. She had shorter hair which looked really good

queentim · 08/12/2023 22:04

agreed @MissTrip82 !

Samcro · 08/12/2023 22:04

I think they both look great most of the time. Of course they make mistakes, they are human

Roussette · 08/12/2023 22:10

I think Kate looks great in casual clothes. Meghan too.

I have trouble with casual, always have!

I’m the same!

Black tie dinner and I can nail it 99.9% of the time

Casual I’m rubbish at

skullbabe · 08/12/2023 22:30

I think she does try to push the boundaries - I think the red cape dress is an example. It’s a really fine line for her to tread - she can’t go too avant garde but I think she’s doing a great job modernising.

JustLookingAtTractors · 08/12/2023 22:53

Not sure Kate has been 'influenced by Meghan'. I haven't yet seen Kate wearing ill-fitting, creased, messy clothes that don't suit her body shape. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong pictures.

Viviennemary · 08/12/2023 23:00

I dont see any signs of Kate being influenced by Meghan. I dont like the wide trousered look at all. I agree Kates decision to wear trousers more often now is probably likely to be because the Queen disapproved of trousers worn by royal women for engagements.

I didn't like that red cape dress at all. I do like Kates look at those formal banquets with sash and tiara. I don't recall Meghan attending one of those. If she did I missed it.

your critique of Meghan’s wardrobe says a lot about you, and nothing about her.

upinaballoon · 08/12/2023 23:10

I've long wanted Kate and Meghan to wear wide trousers FOREVER, so that they are always in fashion. They can intersperse with narrow once every two months.

I just think Meghan isn't very good at clothes. She spent thousands and thousands of pounds in her short stint in the RF and always looked not quite right. She's very beautiful but never gets it quite right with clothes.

Just my opinion, of course.

people forget that in the couple of years she was a working royal she was either pregnant or post baby. I think she looked fab. Given that she was either pregnant or post baby she looked fucking fantastic in her clothes.

queentim · 08/12/2023 23:46

I agree. She had the double trouble of dressing for a new body type and a new job. I think she largely did well, I'd be unnerved

queentim · 08/12/2023 23:48

It was definitely "Michelle Obama, escorted by her husband, Barack" that day 😂. She looked fab.

There's a set of pictures from little children dressing up as them (I think for Halloween), but very cute Cute children as the Obamas

That's cute @FluffyCatBonzo

ALittleTeawithmilk · 09/12/2023 00:17

I love Kate’s look for the Carol Service. She really does look great in that white pantsuit with the longer coat. Kate really stood out.

@queentim Michelle Obama looked sooo good at that inauguration, I loved the colour of her pants suit. After years of Michelle dressing appropriately for a First Lady, I have loved the fashion choices she’s made since Obama left office. (The kids look so sweet).
