I know I'll probably get roasted but King Charles is now a billionaire but he has the most awful gruesome teeth. I cant even bear to look at them. With all that money I'd get my teeth straightened and some subtle veneers. When you are a public figure like that the least you can do is have nice teeth.
I'm not rich by any means but I had mine straightened and si did my DS as I take care of them even if it means not ha
Ving a holiday or or new clothes or anything.
He isn't on benefits he is the king. Sort it out Charles.

Perhaps he doesn't like the Turkey teeth look.
Perhaps, funnily enough, he's not been swayed by Essex reality stars and online influencers.
Perhaps at his age, he's pleased to have retained his own natural teeth and is not vain/ overly invested in physical appearance.

He would look RIDICULOUS with a set of fake white gnashers.

Totally agree, I think he looks as he should. He’d look utterly ridiculous with a blindingly white set of Simon Cowell teeth!
There was another thread earlier for those bemoaning the MN coronet with ears, and a chorus of people saying how awful and wrong it was to make fun of someone’s ears. Yet here you are, dissing his teeth!

Highdaysandholidays1 · 06/05/2023 13:07

Surely there's a middle way between blinding white gnashers and crooked yellow teeth? I've had mine straightened and they are just normal teeth, only straight!

Highdaysandholidays1 · 06/05/2023 13:08

I don't think anyone is poking fun at him, either, just musing that usually, wealthier people or people in the public eye spend a lot on teeth, although perhaps not in his generation.

ohsuzannah · 06/05/2023 13:17

The Queen mother had awful teeth too, I remember commenting on it! 🤣

Chewbecca · 06/05/2023 13:31

Iwasafool · 06/05/2023 12:48

I did. A couple of friends at school did as well.

How old are you?

DRS1970 · 06/05/2023 13:36

They look fine for someone who is almost 80!

Violinist64 · 06/05/2023 13:40

For most people born between around 1945-1970, ie the post war generations, the priority has always been to keep their natural teeth for life. We may have had some orthodontic treatment but it was primitive compared with nowadays. We have traditionally been more concerned with the health of our teeth rather than the Hollywood smile. Most of us have succeeded. In 1968, the year of the first dental survey of its kind, nearly 40% of British adults had no natural teeth but these days, the figure has been reduced to 6%. The king is very much of the post war generation and mindset and, to my eyes, looks to have a healthy set of teeth of the colour and slight irregularity of a man in his seventies.

I'm sure if he spent money on veneers he would be criticised for spending taxpayers' money.

That's funny!

Does he not buy himself anything else then? Seriously, in the scheme of things ...

soggydigestives · 06/05/2023 13:41

Who even looks at his bottom teeth? Not sure a 70 odd year old king needs teeth like Rylan!🙄

hattie43 · 06/05/2023 13:42

Maybe he isn't vain .

She did. She was famously known for having brown tombstones for teeth. I think she only had the front ones but she lived to be over a century with them, which is some feat.

70 so a bit younger than him (I'm not actually sure of his age but he's in his 70s) having braces wasn't unusual when I was at school, probably not as common as now but not unusual and I wasn't the only one in my class. My father was dead and my mother was busy trying to bring up a family so I arranged the referral with my dentist, saw the orthodontist myself and had the treatment. I was still wearing braces at 18 when I was a new mum and that was more unusual. I think I started later because of arranging it myself.

Chewbecca · 06/05/2023 13:46

He's 74. I am surprised - lucky you!

alexaisrising · 06/05/2023 13:49

Sneering at peoples teeth. Nice look op.

gamerchick · 06/05/2023 13:55

Well I hope those who frothed the good froth over the ears thing this morning/ still ongoing are reporting this thread...

Why was I lucky? I asked my dentist if I could be referred and he referred me to an NHS orthodontist who sorted out my teeth. My friends at school started their treatment a couple of years earlier as their parents had the time and head space to sort out the referral. Fifty odd years on I can think of 2 by name who had braces so that was 3 of us in a class of 30 and possibly more that I don't remember. Honestly if a 14 year old kid can get it sorted it seems pretty clear it wasn't a big deal to get orthodontic treatment in the 1960s.

While he's at it, he should get filler, fake tan and hair extensions. Then he'd look as shallow as you sound.

fizzysoda · 06/05/2023 12:21

I know everyone is roasting you for this OP but I actually agree with you. Maybe not on the veneers but would it really be the worst thing for him to have some Invisalign and see a hygienist??

Why would you think he's not seen a hygienist? I go every 6 months, it doesn't make my teeth visibly look any better

ConstanceReid · 06/05/2023 14:13

They are gruesome, but I don't think the elderly are that bothered about having nice teeth.

90redbaloons · 06/05/2023 14:13

Maybe he is one of those rare people who is actually quite happy with how he looks and isn't bothered. Something that's actually nice to see in the shallow world we live in

DameKatyDenisesClagnuts · 06/05/2023 14:25

You had me at veneers Grin

GG1986 · 06/05/2023 15:20

Well I'm sure he doesn't want to look like Joey Essex with turkey teeth ffs! It would look ridiculous.

It's weird isn't it. I can't figure it out unless my jaw is shrinking because I don't have gaps at the back but they are definitely starting to look a bit crowded at the front. Fortunately it doesn't seem to be affecting my top jaw and it is your top teeth that are more visible I think.

Apparently when you smile when young, the top teeth are visible but with age your smile drops a little so bottom teeth are more visable. Either way, I think living with the teeth you have that had aged s bit along with the rest of you will be the choice I will make.

I'm just glad I have all of mine, I'm old enough to remember when women younger than I am now all seemed to have false teeth, for women born at the start of the 20th century it wasn't unusual to have dentures when still fairly young.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 06/05/2023 15:47

Dentist here.
He’s in his 70s. They are definitely his own, they aren’t full of fillings and they aren’t crowns. They just look normal to me, as in this is what teeth look like if you don’t have ortho or bleaching.
I’m sure he sees a dentist regularly!
