I know I'll probably get roasted but King Charles is now a billionaire but he has the most awful gruesome teeth. I cant even bear to look at them. With all that money I'd get my teeth straightened and some subtle veneers. When you are a public figure like that the least you can do is have nice teeth.
I'm not rich by any means but I had mine straightened and si did my DS as I take care of them even if it means not ha
Ving a holiday or or new clothes or anything.
He isn't on benefits he is the king. Sort it out Charles.

Which part don't you understand?

All of it ?

fizzysoda · 06/05/2023 12:21

I know everyone is roasting you for this OP but I actually agree with you. Maybe not on the veneers but would it really be the worst thing for him to have some Invisalign and see a hygienist??

LadyWithLapdog · 06/05/2023 12:24

He may have seen a hygienist. How do you know? And I disagree about Invisalign. Let the guy be. He’s old enough to have made his choices about his body. Not everyone aspires to the LI look. I’ll get off this thread as I can’t believe I’m defending this muppet.

He probably does see a dentist regularly, he is 74 years old why would he be bothered with unnecessary dental work.

I would guess he does see a dentist regularly.

LadyWithLapdog · 06/05/2023 12:28

@fizzysoda you’re aware of the effect of fizzy soda on teeth, presumably? 😁

'Old money' typically don't care about their teeth.

About to say the same, it’s ‘chavvy’ to have perfect veneered white teeth. It’s very upper class to have natural crooked teeth.

Iwasafool · 06/05/2023 12:32

His teeth look overcrowded but for some reason your teeth do start to move forward as you age. My teeth weren't overcrowded in the past but I can see the front 4 at the bottom are starting to move closer, I'm 70 but honestly I'm not going to start orthodontic treatment at my age. I've got all my teeth and that will do for me.

His teeth are yellow because he is 74, all 74 Yr olds teeth are yellow. Teeth are yellow. They aren't stained and there's no calculus. They are clean

He doesn't need invisalign, would you insist he get a nose job as well? Pin his ears back? A bit of liposuction? Invisalign is cosmetic and unecessary. It would likely not give a good result as his teeth are a bit too crowded.

Highdaysandholidays1 · 06/05/2023 12:33

It is not chavvy to have white straight teeth, Turkey teeth are, but I am around posh umc/uc students all the time and I can assure you that they all have beautiful dentistry. It's an age thing. The younger wealthier generation do not have crooked yellow teeth, that's a marker of poverty as NHS dentists are thin on the ground. Charles can't be bothered now which is fair enough. Kate wouldn't have yellow crooked teeth, would she?

Yay for me I can say in old no money 😁

Also yes teeth get more crowded with age

mopeymouse · 06/05/2023 12:34

WTF even is this post?
He's an old man. He's got his own teeth. He's clearly not shallow and about his looks!

Just wow!

Those young people who don't have overcrowded teeth might well have in 50 years time.

It's weird isn't it. I can't figure it out unless my jaw is shrinking because I don't have gaps at the back but they are definitely starting to look a bit crowded at the front. Fortunately it doesn't seem to be affecting my top jaw and it is your top teeth that are more visible I think.

Chewbecca · 06/05/2023 12:37

Nobody of his generation had braces growing up.

He is obviously less vain than today's youth, that is definitely a good thing. He is not there to be looked at and admired for his perfect appearance.

Looking after the teeth you have is a far better option than weakening them and changing them.

Maybe by the time she's 70 she will

Orthodontics are more common these days so crooked teeth tend to be less common. But that doesn't mean that keeping crooked teeth is a problem. Just as some people will get botox to avoid wrinkles or dye their hair to avoid greys, it doesn't mean that someone chosing to keep these natural features is wrong

Teeth are the only part of the body people are criticised for not getting cosmetic work on

Dracuuule · 06/05/2023 12:38

You don't have to go for full on Turkey teeth but his parents could have got him an orthodontist when he was younger.

As we get older all our teeth drift forward, it's called mesial drift, so they become more crowded. It happens to everyone

Highdaysandholidays1 · 06/05/2023 12:42

Kate won't let her teeth get yellow and crooked, she's already had fillers and all kinds! My students are wealthy and all have had a lot of money spent on braces, whitening, it's the in thing in that age group amongst those who have enough money, there's an expectation around whitening for starters which wasn't there when I was young. I agree at 70 they might be more crooked, but most crooked teeth can be straightened out, or people have veneers/implants, everyone on telly has them too. It's incredibly expensive which is why people go cut price to Turkey!

I'm 4 years younger than him I think, I had orthodontics as a teenager and had lovely straight teeth. My top teeth are still fine but my bottom teeth are starting to look a bit overcrowded, same pattern as his but much milder, I guess in the next 4 years they will get more like his.

I did. A couple of friends at school did as well.

“He isn't on benefits he is the king.”

Surely there’s a big group of us in the middle?

knobheeeed · 06/05/2023 13:00

Teeth move forward over time.
Orthodontics is a continuous process - you don't just get them straightened as a kid and they stay straight forever. They require constant maintenance and retainers to keep them straight.
I don't think there's anything wrong with his teeth. He's mid 70s. He's got his own teeth. They look slightly yellow but that is actually the natural colour of teeth. Our idea of what teeth should look like have been completely skewed by these very bright hollywood smiles which aren't natural.
Nothing looks more ridiculous than an older person with bright white, unnatural looking teeth - they end up looking false even if they aren't. I saw an article just this week from a cosmetic dentist just this week talking about how cosmetic dentistry should aim for "age-appropriate" teeth.
