Didn’t William, Kate and George ‘slum it’ in the very same cottage until they were given the KP flat?

Good enough for the primogeniture with a toddler, but not for Harry & his girlfriend (they were upgraded immediately upon marriage, unlike Wills).

Iliveditwizbit · 12/01/2023 15:17

I don’t know but is ‘embarrassed of his home’ the correct way to say it? I always thought it was ‘embarrassed by’?

Usergjdksndjsn · 12/01/2023 15:18

The ‘frat house’ comment doesn’t seem to make sense for just a humble cottage which suggests she was referring to something other than the size or decor of the home. Perhaps it was a mess? he doesn’t say what exactly he’s embarrassed of, at least not in that article.

Kateforqueen · 12/01/2023 15:24

Tone deaf comment given the current climate in the UK. Cost of living crisis & housing crisis & he's embarrassed of his lovely cottege...

Bloody hell, you are obsessed OP. Can't be healthy for you.

babsanderson · 12/01/2023 15:34

I am embarrassed of my home. Should I be eternally grateful because some people are living on the streets?

Maybe there were bongs all over the place.

Yes, it's embarrassed by or about, not of.

Tricolette · 12/01/2023 15:47

In 2016 Harry was 32 and had inherited millions from his dm.
If he was embarrassed why didn't he buy a nice house with his own money, like normal people.

Quite.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 12/01/2023 15:49

Home not furnished to his taste, hadn’t been decorated in years, smaller than he thought others would expect, needs a new kitchen, a bit of a tip - all things people get embarrassed about when it comes to their home.

You are desperate to find fault in all he does.

Here’s the thing OP, some of us can see Harry’s point of view, can see that he is damaged and emotionally stunted. Some of us can see that there are shades of grey in all family relationships and it’s not:

Harry and Meghan = Bad
William and Kate = Good.

I can't speak to what's grammatically correct, but "embarrassed by" makes it sound like the home actively did something to embarrass him.

Spectre8 · 12/01/2023 15:51

Oh ffs everyone is allowed to think that about a house no matter how expensive it is or where it is.

Christ just because something is millions of pounds if it looked crap inside id say the same thing.

And lets stop getting so precious over the cost of living ...if you want to go down that road then let's look at he royals who are costing us money he way of taxes shall we. Or how the crown estate whose got additional money during covid to top up their loss of PROFIT! yes that's right the profit dropped and taxpayers topped it up meanwhile people were losing jobs during covid....where was ur outrage then...oh wait its cos its not Harry.

Nolosomi · 12/01/2023 15:53

And Kate’s £175,000 cost for her 2022 wardrobe ALONE doesn’t get you going OP? Get a grip. Sad username too btw.

Another Harry bashing thread. Boring.

I think there was mention of a bean bag chair, so in fairness, maybe he just wasn't looking after it and it was a bit soulless and impersonal.

Aquamarine1029 · 12/01/2023 15:59

I guess Harry isn't allowed his own feelings then? 🙄

Are these places they just stay for a while, eg belongs to RF or crown or whatever

Not really following the house situation

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 12/01/2023 16:03

I think @Kateforqueen is secretly a H&M fan and is starting multiple threads slating them in order to actually garner support for their cause

This ^

Also if you’re a multi millionaire why buy second hand sofas from sofa.com on your wife’s credit card if you don’t want to?

He could have afforded brand new from Loaf and still had at least £9,998,000 in the bank!

@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen he was a millionaire he could afford to buy something less embarrassing for himself rather than relying on the tax payer to fund it for him.
