Has William's alleged affair been mentioned yet or is he saving for book 2?

Surprised this hasn't been exposed, thought that would be the big reveal. I'm doubting there's any truth to it now unless he's saving it for book 2?

What do you mean, book 2? This tome has to be it, surely?

User12453315 · 06/01/2023 20:09

If he gets ousted from the RF as a result of this then definitely in book 2. (The book deal is for a trilogy).

Also watch out for the "but Pippa wouldn't have called her daughter Rose if that were case bla bla bla" brigade that will follow on this thread

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 20:11

I can't imagine that either the ghost writer or publisher wish to be sued for libel.

Blossomtoes · 06/01/2023 20:13

Well would she? Would you?

Tiredmummyof3 · 06/01/2023 20:15

Affair?! Why have I never heard of these rumours?! Whose rose?!

Martinisarebetterdirty · 06/01/2023 20:16

There’s a link on one of the other threads on this where Tom Bradbury says that there wasn’t an affair. Given all the other personal details coming out and shared by Harry I’m inclined to think there wasn’t as surely he would have mentioned it if there was.

Bluekerfuffle · 06/01/2023 20:18

Not this again. Of course there is no truth in it as there’s not one shred of evidence. Not even reason to suspect it as his wife seems very happy with him.

What’s wrong with people make sensible, logical comments instead of automatically believing some bilge with no basis that you read on Twitter?

Can't sue for something that's true though.

StellaGibson2022 · 06/01/2023 20:23

I wondered this but then also wondered if the alleged non disclosure thing would cover anything in the book; so basically it could be in there but the UK press/media wouldn’t be able to report it?

TBH I have only ever heard of the alleged affair on here and don’t have much knowledge of the details so could be completely wrong!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 20:25

Can't sue for something that's true though.

So let them publish it and let's see what happens. KP and BP may not be commenting but they have been known to sue.

Creamcakeandrhinos · 06/01/2023 20:25

The person who alleged this has already said he made it up FFS

Actually you can sue if somebody says something that’s true.

It doesn’t only have to be true, you have to be able to prove it to the civil standard of proof in a libel court. If you do have this proof then you should go to the papers and they’ll pay you 100k for it. If you don’t, then I hope you’re comfortable with defaming somebody who has access to many millions and might just be in the mood to start suing people..

Tipster100 · 06/01/2023 20:29

Is this not what the big fight was about? Or is that book 2 as well? It's the only thing he's not disclosing. I can't remember why the media backed down on it all but I suspect Harry has the same issue.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 20:31

Yes but it's like that story about Bob Holness playing sax on 'Baker Street'. Stuart MacConie has admitted that he made it up but people still think it's true.

Creamcakeandrhinos · 06/01/2023 20:39

I hadn’t heard that thanks, but you can’t fix stupid I suppose

Serenster · 06/01/2023 20:43

Tom Bower is saying (he was interviewed today) that one of the reasons William can’t stand Meghan is that she gloated to Kate about William cheating on her. Tom Bower doesn’t believe the affair rumours. He’s apparently issuing an addendum to his book, so I presume that he’ll be covering this in it.

(usual disclaimer - obviously I know nothing about this this save for the fact that various journalists have repeatedly tweeted that after much digging they have never been able to find any evidence of any affair. The two people who did actually put their names to the rumour - one American blogger and Giles Coren - have both said they actually know nothing and were speculating/joking. There is no super-injunction, so nothing to stop anyone reporting on this except the fact that they have absolutely no evidence, meaning there’s a high chance they’d lose if sued. And yes, last year Kate’s sister named her third child Rose, the same name as the William’s alleged mistress, about whom rumours have been circulating for several years now).

I have no idea if there was an affiar but suggest that would happen is frankly bonkers

"AIBU to use a name for my daughter that I've loved for years even though my BIL had an affair with a woman of the same name?"

SleepyRooster · 06/01/2023 20:47

There's just no way he hadn't had affairs, plural.

angstridden2 · 06/01/2023 20:49

Tbh if I had a daughter I doubt I’d name her after my BILs mistress if I loved my sister.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 06/01/2023 20:51

If you mean Giles Coren, he didn't start the rumour, he merely repeated something was already gossip on the internet and Twitter. The first hint seems to have come from Dan Wootton, ironically.

Is it true? Not a clue.

This.
My exhusband had an affair with a woman whose name appeared frequently in the primary school reading scheme the school I taught at used. It sounds mad but for a long time when I saw the name, heard a child say the name it affected me. I can't imagine my sibling giving their child that name knowing the spasm in my brain that would occur everytime I heard it.

Polecat03 · 06/01/2023 21:21

I thought the 'Courtiers lied to protect William' was his bit in the book about the affairs, a safe indirect reference. Not sure if there are any other stories about William he'd need lies told about?

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 21:30

I thought in the NF documentary they said it was about the Sandringham summit? (And everybody thought Really? What a let down.)
