Has William's alleged affair been mentioned yet or is he saving for book 2?

Surprised this hasn't been exposed, thought that would be the big reveal. I'm doubting there's any truth to it now unless he's saving it for book 2?

I thought the 'Courtiers lied to protect William' was his bit in the book about the affairs, a safe indirect reference. Not sure if there are any other stories about William he'd need lies told about?

That’s the problem with vague statements like this, people imagine it to refer to whatever they think. As it has never appeared in the press, I doubt that’s what they are supposed to have lied about, (if anything).

If he gets ousted from the RF as a result of this then definitely in book 2. (The book deal is for a trilogy).

Because it makes sense that no one would call their child after an affair partner. To suggest otherwise is just idiotic.
There's been no proof of this alleged affair.

If you mean Giles Coren, he didn't start the rumour, he merely repeated something was already gossip on the internet and Twitter. The first hint seems to have come from Dan Wootton, ironically.

Does Tara Palmer Tompkison have a sister (I know she has passed on)? I ask because I have never checked the facts but my friend runs in those circles and she told me TPT’s sister was talking about his affair years before the press.

I have not fact checked the rumour I am not passing on.

I am inclined to believe my friend then. Because she told me about it around three years ago and when she was telling me - she made it sound like she had heard it long before.

Tom Bower is saying (he was interviewed today) that one of the reasons William can’t stand Meghan is that she gloated to Kate about William cheating on her. Tom Bower doesn’t believe the affair rumours. He’s apparently issuing an addendum to his book, so I presume that he’ll be covering this in it.

(usual disclaimer - obviously I know nothing about this this save for the fact that various journalists have repeatedly tweeted that after much digging they have never been able to find any evidence of any affair. The two people who did actually put their names to the rumour - one American blogger and Giles Coren - have both said they actually know nothing and were speculating/joking. There is no super-injunction, so nothing to stop anyone reporting on this except the fact that they have absolutely no evidence, meaning there’s a high chance they’d lose if sued. And yes, last year Kate’s sister named her third child Rose, the same name as the William’s alleged mistress, about whom rumours have been circulating for several years now).

If M actually did that, she’s not much of a
feminist then.

Fwiw I was told by someone who works at the palace that it was true. (I was roundly rubbishing the rumour - not out of any loyalty - I’m a Republican - but because I thought W was far too dull to be pursuing OW). However I can’t vouch for whether they were correct. It was the first time I ever had pause to examine my assumption the whole thing was baloney.

We are not ‘hoping for an affair’. We are both saying we have heard it from people who have connections.

I wonder why the possibility is something you feel you need to defend?

Charles had an affair, Diana had an affair, Camilla had an affair, Andrew had an affair, Prince Philip had an affair - and that’s just from the top of my head. What sort of messaging about the value of relationships does those role models send and how much of a leap is it really?
