What is Harry trying to achieve?

On the one hand he says he wants his brother and father back but on the other hand he is selling his story to the highest bidder like some Z-list celebrity.

How does he think this will end?

Indeed. Why would anyone make moves to build bridges when they can’t trust him not to give details to the next friendly ghost writer/documentary maker

ProceedWithOptimism · 05/01/2023 13:11

Relevancy?

PrayingandHoping · 05/01/2023 13:11

Money and to get people to believe is version of events. That he is 100% the victim and is blameless

HelloBunny · 05/01/2023 13:11

They are a dysfunctional family.

Harebrain · 05/01/2023 13:11

A big wad of cash!

snapdragon12 · 05/01/2023 13:13

money! Doesn't want to be in the family. Not qualified for owt else!

ditalini · 05/01/2023 13:15

I can only assume that he's strapped for cash in a way that we couldn't possibly understand, and doesn't have any (conventionally respectable) legitimate ways of raising it otherwise.

It's all so very, very Z list. Selling yourself this way (even if it's to paint yourself in the best possible light) isn't something that powerful people do - privacy is the biggest currency that the truly influential and successful appreciate.

PrincessofWellies · 05/01/2023 13:16

Some people fail to take into account the effect their actions have on other family members because of course it's all about them. It's a hard lesson to learn, but some actions and words are such a breach of trust the relationship can never be the same and in some cases irretrievable.

SallyWD · 05/01/2023 13:16

He's very very angry and upset. He's lashing out. I don't think he sees beyond that really.

Velda · 05/01/2023 13:17

He just wants money. Megs has convinced him that as “the spare” he will gradually become more irrelevant, so the only way to assure his future and the future of his kids is to get as much cash as possible while he still can.

Farawayfromhere · 05/01/2023 13:17

He’s obviously having some massive crisis and has lost all sense of himself and all perspective on what actual hardship is.

I think he’s surrounded himself by a load of new people and is essentially having an existential rebirth and rejecting his whole past and constructing his new self with the help of therapists and publicists. And presumably he and those around him want to make as much money as possible while he does it.

He is very misguided but I seems quite vulnerable. I feel sorry for him in some ways.

Volkswagenitalia · 05/01/2023 13:17

And now he is saying 'the door is always open and the ball is in their court'? 😂

I imagine they might just walk off the court altogether at this stage and leave him stood there like an idiot.

SirChenjins · 05/01/2023 13:19

Money and power - the two things he felt he didn’t have enough of in the RF.

purpleme12 · 05/01/2023 13:19

Maybe it is the money thing.
Maybe the family did treat him badly. Maybe he was seen as the bad one. I don't necessarily believe everything that they say but I can believe some people are treated differently in a family. I feel that way. But splashing it across every new other is another thing of course.
But I don't know what the real truth is with it all, how can we.
Maybe he is lashing out. I know how it is to be pushed to lash out with what you say. I don't know if that is the case here. It's just all done on a different scale with doing it to the world.
It's all got very sad really

But he could have stayed as a senior member of the RF if he wanted to remain ‘relevant’

It looks very much like their plan has totally back fired and they’ve realised they will be totally irrelevant pretty soon so are slinging as much mud as possible.

But going out like this is just vulgar

And they have run out of ammunition now too

That’s what I don’t get - the RF have always said their door was open - then H&M continued to sell their story - how can they possibly think the onus is on the RF to apologise?

Money.

No sane individual could possibly think his current behaviour will bring about a reconciliation.

confusedlots · 05/01/2023 13:24

He's in too far now that he has very little choice but to keep going with this madness, and unfortunately Megan is egging him on. It she gets sick of it eventually she'll no doubt leave him, and enjoy the American dream with her children and Harry will be left with no one. If roles were reversed and a man was causing his wife to become estranged from her family and friends in the same way, people would be much more vocal about what is happening in their relationship.

Harry does not want his father and brother back. He wants this ideal family he has built up in his head where he has a mother, father and brother and they all get on well and have a happy family life. He doesn't have that unfortunately and he's not going to have that, like lots of other people in the world. Unfortunately for him he can't see that or else just can't accept it.

35965a · 05/01/2023 13:24

Just money.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 05/01/2023 13:25

He wants attention.
The RF have more or less ignored them and they wanted them to say sorry and beg them to come back

Whatthediddlyfeck · 05/01/2023 13:25

There’s no such thing as bad publicity? I’ve just heard on the radio that now he’s saying that William and Catherine “told” him to wear the Nazi uniform…aye ok then, sure they did

He's channelling his uncle A who also has no legitimate way to earn a living so takes dodgy cash from the highest bidder. H is heading down the same slippery slimey slope. It's going to end in tears... His, not ours.

saffronrabbit · 05/01/2023 13:26

Money and Revenge

He is willing to lose the respect of the public, his family, his link to the most famous family in the world, for both himself and his children.

He is a bitter and nasty man.

Sugarfree23 · 05/01/2023 13:27

Gawd only knows what he's trying to achieve other than get cash.

But at what expense? His family?

I really don't think this is going to do his MH any good. Nobody is going to convince me that he's sitting with a smile on his face watching the fallout.

If he's not very careful he'll end up a very lonely broken man. The RF seem to be a very protective stick together sort of a family. But he's put himself on the outside of that. It will take years for him to regain any level of trust.
