If you look at 7.35, someone steps forward from the line of people on the left and throws what seems like a liquid (probs coffee from a coffee mug).

Whether one is a monarchist or not, the lack of basic human decency and respect from some people is really quite sad.

Haven’t seen the clip but agree, people are being disrespectful. If you don’t care then don’t go- simple.

listsandbudgets · 13/09/2022 19:59

Sorry 7.35 of what?

I agree - very disrespectful if that's what it was. Apparently a lot of people were throwing flowers at the start but have now been asked not to.

Loveatortie · 13/09/2022 20:03

I saw and heard that, no need for it 🤬

QuebecBagnet · 13/09/2022 20:06

I heard a bang, surely wasn’t flowers?

You know funerals are having to be cancelled on the Monday don’t you? I’d called that pretty bloody disrespectful…

Don’t think it was the queen herself who requested that though.

I think that was a shocking oversight.

Was probably a stuffed Paddington bear.

Agreed. Particularly for Jewish and Muslim funerals that have such tight time constraints. It’s ludicrous.

absolutelyanythingwilldo · 13/09/2022 20:21

8.32 gets even more crazy.

That’s not the queens fault is it. She didn’t ask for this.
To throw anything at her car is disgusting.

In 10 mins time? How can you tell the future? 🤣

7:35pm of the live broadcast.

Whowhatwherewhenwhynow · 13/09/2022 20:24

Yes very disrespectful. Pro monarchy or not that’s bad behaviour.

Also very awful for others funerals to be cancelled. I don’t understand why there had to be a bank holiday.

That's always a problem if you have bank holidays

KosherDill · 13/09/2022 20:25

Tangential but on the television it looks like the hearse drove right into Buckingham Palace.

Granted I am not familiar with the layout but is that lower leveal all garage? Or did they drive right into the residence? Rather than carry her coffin from the front plaza area. I was very surprised to see that!

It has a central courtyard

I agree, and have just mentioned this on another thread too. It's shocking.

It's a bank holiday but it's also not I think. It was declared one for the civil service and local authorities really. But business can decide themselves if they want to open/carry on.

Issue you have is many of the church of England vicars will want to be a part of their boss' funeral, but not you know the big boss in the sky.

Problem is also if the local crematorium is closed, no grave diggers as they are employed by the Local Authority you also can't have a funeral.

It was always expected to be a day off, since I was a child I've always weirdly know "we get a day off for the queen's funeral". She can't help when she died.

But having said all that, I do feel sorry for families who were expecting to lay their own loved ones to rest on Monday. They will have begun to prepare themselves for that day.

Jakadaal · 13/09/2022 20:32

Funerals being cancelled - is that not down to undertakers (private business) and councils? Public services such as NHS will be running and undertakers will be doing retrievals so maybe they should also make exceptions as well for those funerals that have time constraints

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/09/2022 20:36

nhs appointments will be cancelled but people will still be looked after in wards
i am not sure surgery will go ahead?

startfresh · 13/09/2022 20:38

None of the above is a suitable reason to throw something at the hearse of a 93 year old woman.

That's what this post is about. And it is WRONG.

My husband has an appointment on Monday. It has not been cancelled.
