God I had forgotten about Stuart Hall.

Roussette · 13/01/2022 16:27

Malibu Yes, they do although I think the guy in France who sent them to JE as a 'birthday present' is behind bars in relation to rape, trafficking, sexual assault and criminal conspiracy. All involving minors. The case is ongoing now.

Disgusting piece of shit.

I'd forgotten him.

Maybe the collective name for paedophiles (pedophiles to my US readers) could be a palace of paedos

Sima Kotecha
More than 150 Royal Navy, RAF and Army veterans have written to Queen, calling for Prince Andrew to be stripped of all his titles and ranks in the British Armed Forces. Many suspected this was coming ..

I said yesterday, they need to be prepared to send their geegaws back if the Queen decides to ignore them (bet they don't). The hypocrisy of monarchy is pernicious, insidious, pervasive, corrupting and corrosive.

Remember: Monarchy - no matter how you dress it up - is based on the fact that you were not born equal with other human beings. Fuck that for a message for my children, or their children. And given that being born a woman has also meant being assigned a lesser status at birth (arguably even now, in 2022) then it's fascinating how Royal support is spread out.

Interesting. I suppose the drawback would be if a mistrial were declared in the GM case-- would this jeopardise the chances of a retrial? Presumably it was sealed in the first place because it would be too prejudicial?

Don't know if that is why it was sealed but, if that is the case, it should probably remain sealed until there is a decision on whether to declare a mistrial. It is difficult to say anything definitive without knowing what was in it and why it was sealed.

Im still shocked to see posters defending PA, but each to their own.
In my job I video interview child and and adult victims of sexual offences. All the footage I have seen of VG so far is in my view very compelling.
As for paying her legal fees, I read somewhere she has set up a charity supporting victims of sexual abuse, maybe the funds have come from there or the lawyers are working on a pro bono basis, which if they are would indicate that they are confident of winning.

it had become inevitable - surprised it took them this long in the first place, but it had to be done before the Jubilee, didn't it?

He'll have no role in any of the Jubilee stuff now, and will just be another besuited person if there's anything to which the whole wider family is invited (there's bound to be a service of Thanksgiving, inst there? So perhaps that and nowt else)

CaveMum · 13/01/2022 17:35

Has someone in the PR Office been reading MN then? Wink

Billlius · 13/01/2022 17:35

No longer HRH? Does it say that? I missed it.

SerendipityJane · 13/01/2022 17:36

The only person who will be more cross than Andrew will be her madge. We already know how she detests being made to do anything.

Maireas · 13/01/2022 17:36

Good news.
I hope we no longer see his wretched former wife touting her books and defending him on tv.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/01/2022 17:36

Good grief, they really ARE in damage limitation mode aren't they??

Pity they had to be forced into it by the latest farce, but better late than never

EdithWeston · 13/01/2022 17:37

BBC says that - and I can't believe they printed that without fact checking

SerendipityJane · 13/01/2022 17:39

@Billlius

It pointedly didn't

Remember as far as the Queen is concerned, being Royal is a divine calling (you really have to ask how they can believe in this guff since 1649). So not to be interfered with by the common likes of mankind. It's famously why she won't abdicate.

Personally if I were her, I would really ask myself if God is sending a message. And then I remember the joke about the sinking ship.

StormzyinaTCup · 13/01/2022 17:40

I do actually feel sad for the Queen, that must have been painful for her to do. What a complete dick he is. (I know I’m probably in the minority here with that view Wink.

SerendipityJane · 13/01/2022 17:40

As I suspected ...

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59987935

Prince Andrew will also stop using the style His Royal Highness

So it's not taken away from him. He just "won't use it".

Needtogetoffmyphone · 13/01/2022 17:40

I read this thread a lot, but don’t post

Does anyone know if the fact he’s defending now as a private citizen, limit the royal families financial liability?
