Here is previous thread.

I've started a new thread because today and tomorrow is crucial as far as the pending civil case.

And I also had a few comments I wanted to say to posters at the end of the last thread, but it ran out.

We don't exactly know how on earth ie accumulated such vast wealth in a short space of time and only a criminal record behind him from one investment bank.

It seems to be tied in with les wexler and whatever has gone on there, someone said "I hope les is dead by the Rome through rest of it comes out".

Now thus money is what has gone to fund Prince Andrew, or has it?
Is it black mail money?

I think it's a matter of public interest and forensic accountants need to get all over it
I think we need to know if prominent members of the royal family are funded on suspicious funds.

I'm not madly anti royal either.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10379445/Ghislaine-Maxwells-lawyers-fought-ask-jurors-detailed-questions-sexual-abuse.html

Bit of a battle over the phrasing of the those questions apparently.

Vapeyvapevape · 07/01/2022 21:21

The answers to the questions were, obviously, very important, so why didn't someone go through the questionnaire with each juror.?

KimikosNightmare · 07/01/2022 22:03

@Roussette

I imagine she has been paying the legal fees (I read that they were coming out of Duchy funds) but has said that if this moves forward with a trial (or whatever its called) enough is enough. I read somewhere that the legal fees were over a million already...

My big question is... how did he afford £17million on a chalet in the first place. It's obscene.

He can't. It was only partly paid and the seller holds a mortgage over it for the balance. PA and Fergie missed a payment and are already trying to sell it to pay the seller. If they don't pay her, she can call up her security and sell it.
KimikosNightmare · 07/01/2022 22:06

Sorry, has the mortgage in favour of the seller now been paid off?

BlackAlys · 07/01/2022 23:07

@ShitRunAway

God yes. I worked in the vicinity of the RF years ago. PH had been rather naughty overseas and I was amazed at how apt the team were at 'removing' the problem. Not one moral between the lot of them RF or the hangers on. Mess up, and they will crush you.
Can you quantify'naughty' and 'removing'?

Really good Twitter thread here by psychologist Dr Jess Taylor on why it’s ridiculous to try and prevent abuse victims from sitting as Jurors:

SpaceshiptoMars · 08/01/2022 10:07

@CaveMum

For me, the problem is there's abuse, and there's ABUSE. Flashers, gropers, constant innuendo - part of many women's normal backdrop of life. Childhood rape - that cranks it up orders of magnitude.

Apart from the risk of the jury trying the wrong case, I think it is way too big an ask to make someone with a truly horrific background sit through triggering material. Does the court provide a psychologist on call for the jurors? Do they get timeouts when overwhelmed? Do they get weekly counselling provided for the year following the case?

Vapeyvapevape · 08/01/2022 10:10

@CaveMum that's an excellent piece, how do we know people who haven't been abused but have been accused of being an abuser don't have an impartial attitude. There's just too many combinations to exclude anyone from being neutral.

One of the women who testified has come out to speak and say she remembers Virginia talking about Prince Andrew. But also says she blames her for bringing her to Epstein.

Where’s the Judge gone with his decision? I’m beginning to think he’s been kidnapped or gone into hiding or is unavoidably detained. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Does anyone think that he wants to deny Andrews lawyers but is finding it difficult to find a way how he can legally do so?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/01/2022 13:22

I think someone upthread said she's actually agreed to wait for her money until it's sold, which would indeed fit in with them "trying to sell"

Personally I'd have wanted my money now, especially with the cash he's clearly able to find for other things, so now I wonder how she came to agree to defer it?

Nope. He'll be snoozing over his wine while an exhausted judge's clerk pens the judgment for him.
PlanktonsComputerWife · 08/01/2022 13:29

@SpaceshiptoMars

I do find that quite disgusting. I would refuse to answer any such questions. I don't think they're ever appropriate.
SerendipityJane · 08/01/2022 13:50

They seem borderline political to me. So much for (the illusion of) freedom of thought.

Still, gives us a sneak preview of how English courts might go I guess.

SpaceshiptoMars · 08/01/2022 14:12

I agree that 'refuse to answer' should be one of the options given. But it would probably be an automatic disqualification for jury on that type of case.

Controversial..... Another way of filtering jurors could be to wire everyone up to lie-detecting type equipment and show a few films. Standard family fare, then teenage levels of acceptable violence, and then something more challenging. Choose your jurors from those showing average levels of sensibility to suffering and avoid the extremes.

The Telegraph are reporting -

"The Queen would be asked to help fund any potential settlement the Duke of York pays his accuser, The Telegraph understands."

www.msn.com/en-gb/entertainment/celebrity/queen-would-be-asked-to-help-pay-off-prince-andrew-s-accuser-if-sex-abuse-case-settled/ar-AASy22u?ocid=msedgntp

I have noticed a few other articles talking about a settlement. I think they are trying to prepare the public for the idea of a settlement. So they must anticipate the case moving to a trial.

diddl · 08/01/2022 15:03

Why would the Queen be asked & by whom?

RoyalFamilyFan · 08/01/2022 15:04

I assume by Prince Andrew because he could not afford to pay enough for a settlement to be accepted without her help.

diddl · 08/01/2022 15:11

Yes-I just wonder why it's all written so mysteriously!

It makes it sound as if they are going for more than he has got which is surely ridiculous.

Well of course unless it's to make sure that there is no settlement!

RoyalFamilyFan · 08/01/2022 15:13

@diddl maybe Andrew's finances are in a worse state than we know?
I don't know, I just agree it is pretty mysterious. Especially as it is from the Telegraph.

KittenCatcher · 08/01/2022 15:13

I am not sure how this new story alledging VG sent messages and photos of her being with PA and sleeping with him helps either side. He will be called a liar and she will be accused of bragging.

Roussette · 08/01/2022 15:14

Interesting in that article, VG is pushing for a trial, as opposed to a pay-off which could be as much as £5million.

It rather negates the idea that she's just in it for the money, as some insisted was the case on the previous thread.
She wants to send a message that anyone preying on your girls will face the full force of the law.

Indeed!

I'm not sure that that many of them are personally wealthy.

As in own property & earn millions a year!

RoyalFamilyFan · 08/01/2022 15:29

Yes, I too have seen that VG is pushing for a trial. But it looks like Andrew wants to offer a large enough payout with help from the Queen to persuade her otherwise.
I think even if VG accepted a large payout, the public would see that as confirming his guilt.
