Duchess Kate wore a $1788 Miu Miu cardigan

I was surprised to see the Duchess of Cambridge getting a very hard time in the Daily Mail comments over the cost of this cardigan. I thought the Daily Mail readers loved the Duchess?

I don’t like her cardi much. Certainly not that ££ amount.

They can't pick on Meghan any more as no more new photos. So they've turned on Kate.

I also think that Kate is spending too much on absolutely hideous clothing, but I wouldn't post in DM comments. That place is a vipers' nest.

Very Christmassy. Probably not as tasteful as her usual style but hey, it's Christmas. And there is every chance it was a freebie.

I don't like the cardigan, but I expect the RF to spend a lot on clothes, so this doesn't surprise me at all. It is as if the readers really think she pops down to Primary to buy a cardigan.

I’m sure she didn’t pay that for the cardi. I do think her hair is a bit long for her. But so is mine at the moment. I’m struggling to get a hair appointment, doubt that’s her excuse!

I like her hair when it’s shorter and darker. More like mine.

I think it's cute. I wouldn't pay that sort of money, though. I'd give it the overworked donkeys or the captive bears.

@DobbyTheHouseElk she has hair extensions or a wig piece. It is pretty obvious.

@LaurieFairyCake I don't think there is anything wrong with her buying expensive clothes, but the cheap clothes are a pr stunt. I am sure she changes out of them as soon as the cameras have gone.

To add- I used to get a 40% discount from the same designer for being a regular and pre-buying. her discount was larger.

She looks gorgeous! Who cares what she spent - I'm sure she can afford it.

@TheHoptimist I have read that few people the full price for these kind of items. But they are still very expensive.
But of course, she buys expensive clothes. I do wonder about some of the people in the DM comments. Do they think she gets the local bus to Kensington Palace as well, rather than the helicopter she actually travels by?

Nothing to see here, just a very devoted RF fan. 😉
Although for a fan they aren’t very positive about the RF.

She can’t win. She got loads of press for wearing the same outfit to a few occasions.I’m pretty sure she wore her mum’s coat/dress a while back and they harped on about that for ages.

I don’t begrudge her having an expensive top for a Christmas event. Most people like to get a new outfit for an event (especially if you knew you’d be on telly!).

I think I saw an article saying it was a nod to a cardigan Diana wore at Christmas? I just glanced and didn’t read the full article.
