That cardi is fug. But, for the record and because it's what we are all brainwashed encouraged to do, here is my standard Mumsnet response:

Ooh, she looks lovely. I'd look terrible in it, all overweight and common!
I best she gets William to [insert banal everyday activity here] while she wears it and does ever so many normal mum things like the rest of us, but in a beautiful and ironic way.
I don't mind her spending £26373846 on clothes using all the cash leached from dubious financial arrangements over 1000s of years.

She can't win what ever she wears. If she went to somewhere like Peacocks or Next, she would still get slated by some.

The RF don't typically take freebies/discounts, so she probably did pay for it.

She does wear quite a bit of High Street, but there's lots of more expensive stuff too. And she wears stuff more than once, so perhaps we'll see it popping up a few more times

I know that she didnt pay the full price with another designer- but none of the regular clients did.

It disgusts me. It's a very average, ugly cardigan that she'll probably wear a handful of times in her life and one way or another the public will have paid for it. Over a thousand pounds for a lumpy cardi is completely obscene. I'm not saying she should shop in Primark but I bet she is laughing her arse off at the life we fund for her.

How can a person tell if someone else has hair extensions?

As she has a strong track record for mixing it up with her price points, I don't care about the money.

I do care, however, about how godawful that cardigan is. Surely that's only for a 5 year old or a very VERY old lady?

Not really the point but I wouldn't pay 50p for that card at a car boot sale. Totally naff in my opinion!

As for what Kate paid (or didn't pay) in the vastness of ludicrous extravagance in which the Royals live, a £1.5k cardi hardly registers.

@ShirleyPhallus the photo I posted at the top of the thread is from her promo for the Christmas carol being shown on ITV. So must have been recorded this month.

@CariadWelshcake her hair doesn't look that natural, far too thick, but the easiest way is comparing to how her hair usually looks. She has nice hair, but it isn't like this.
Hair extensions and wig pieces though are very common these days though.

I'm not convinced it's extensions. Some people do have naturally thick hair. Mine is fairly similar to hers and it's natural. It doesn't always thin with age either - mine is thicker now than when I was a teenager because I don't colour it or use heat on it and it remained thick after having children.

I like her style. I like the cardigan. I am generally a big Cardi fan though.

I wish they would focus on Andrew instead absolutely this though.
