Prince Harry revealed in his Oprah interview that the Sussexes stopped receiving money from the royal family in the first quarter of 2020. However, newly published accounts reveal that Prince Charles continued to financially support the Sussexes until summer 2020.

I wonder if this is going to be a case of their truth or incorrect wording on Harry’s behalf. Interesting!

Roya leaked the contents of the call'

Quite sure I said she reported the call. Harry also does not report what was said.

The call was between H and W. So who told Roya ? Cause it's not H.

smilesy · 01/07/2021 17:27

Hair splitting. Ok. The outcome of the call was shared. It made it easy to imagine that the conversation didn’t go well. Which is very different from “a call took place”.

smilesy · 01/07/2021 17:32

It doesn’t matter that Roya knew and reported that a call took place. Because that is totally innocuous. If I told you that a call took place between me and my best friend you would think “oh”. If I said it wasn’t productive you would think “oh, they have argued”. At least, a reasonable person in the street would. You cannot infer anything from “a call took place”. You can from it was not productive but doesn’t matter if W told Roya that a call took place. There is no personal detail in that. I can’t believe I’m actually explaining this …..

Mummy194 · 01/07/2021 17:37

The report of the call was just after days of guess work that W is mad at H, and they are just not talking. The everyday person would assume a call means things are better, they were not. Even on the report I linked, there is mention of reports of a reconciliation. People thought the call meant reconciliation is on the cards. The timing is off. I can't believe I'm actually explaining this...............

smilesy · 01/07/2021 17:39

Mummy, you keep slightly moving the goalposts about what you said. I’m not discussing it anymore 😀

What was said up-thread:

"Roya's article pretended that they had a good productive talk, which was not the case"

Links to two different articles by Roya have been provided, which say no such thing (not even close). Unless there has been another article?

I've searched and cannot find one.
@Tal45

I don't understand his 'my family cut me off financially' statement - what sort of entitled person thinks they're family should be paying for them once they're an adult, he'd already had 7 mil from his mother, why should his dad be financially supporting him? He doesn't want to be a royal, that's fine, but he's 36 years old for gods sake and bleating that his family aren't paying his keep. I just find him more and more pathetic and dislikeable by the day.

TBF THIS ^^

He’s a 36 yr old married man with a family bleating that daddy isn’t paying his pocket money anymore to the tune of £2.5 million, and that the British tax payer won’t fund him for doing nothing whilst he lives it up in Montecito, when he had over £12 million (I think) plus Megan had around £4 million in the bank! Maybe they could just have cut their cloth according to their income like all of us have to?
I agree! If he wants to be independent and not one of the "working royals", then he needs to learn to live within his (very substantial) means and stand on his own two feet!

Me too.

Here's a link to all Roya's articles in The Times.

You're not explaining anything.

You're stating your suppositions and opinions and linking to sources that do not support what you are saying.

It's a constant theme.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinions but please stop presenting them as facts or asserting allegations that you have no proof of.

It constantly de-rails the thread and does not reflect favourably on your credibility and thus actually undermines your support for H&M - which is a shame because you obviously feel very strongly about the matter.

Mummy194 · 01/07/2021 18:10

As if this thread is not basically made up of suppositions !

Yes - of course it is.

Speculation and opinions are fine.

The difference is when a poster states that they are facts and mis-quotes articles from the press to "prove" the allegations.

Ok shall we try and get back on track?

Does anyone know how long H is staying in the U.K. for?

It would be nice if he got some time post-quarantine to see some friends.

That said, because of quarantine it's been a longer trip that necessary so I can imagine he's quite keen to get back to M and the children.

Roussette · 01/07/2021 18:40

Trouble is... the subject in hand is Charles and financial support for Harry and how long, which is a bit old hat now!

From what I read Harry stayed with Eugenie at Frogmore for the 5 days quarantine, I wonder if he saw anyone or how it worked.

Yay thank you Rou for the bump back!

I wondered about that too.

I think it was reported that FrogCott had been "divided" up somehow to ensure social distancing.

Tbh I think I'm such a big house that would be quite easy.

I'm assuming H could have a room with an en-suite and perhaps even a lounge area??

Use of the kitchen at separate times or food delivered?

I'm not really that sure fait with FrogCott but I'm sure it's feasible.

It's good I think that Eugine seems to have stayed neutral in all this (or perhaps sympathetic to H - I don't know).

Now he's done quarantine I imagine (hope) he's had a nice catch up with her, Jack and little August.

DeRigueurMortis · 01/07/2021 18:51

Sorry for all the typos!

Fat fingers today!!!

Roussette · 01/07/2021 19:26

I also read that him and Eugenie are quite close, not sure how true that is!

Oldbutstillgotit · 01/07/2021 19:55

I read that Frogmore Cottage was divided into 2 so that H could quarantine safely .

Must be true if you read it. Even if it's true I bet Eugenje is very loyal to the rest of them and won't give him any ammunition for cbs reveals.

I'd expect frogmore is very roomy so a load of people could probably isolate without seeing each other anyway.

I wonder if it's actually been divided into two or just designated separate spaces?

I suppose the former might make sense if it's now Eugine's home and H&M's base in the U.K.

Either way it's good to see it used after the money spent on renovations and I think also good that it gives H&M a tie back to the family through Eugine.

Much has been made of Catherine being a peacemaker but I think it's more likely E is the best person to be bridging the gap as it were.

That's a bit snippy towards Rou Jaime....

I don't always agree with her opinion but I'm always interested in her perspective.

She's certainly not prone to making unfounded allegations and is as entitled to her views as much as anyone.

SueSaid · 01/07/2021 20:36

'She's certainly not prone to making unfounded allegations and is as entitled to her views as much as anyone.'

Course they are, we all are but it's a bit ironic to say they've 'read something' when they usually strongly refute tabloid gossip as just that, gossip.

It is good that its been used and gives H a base he seems to feel comfortable at. Does eugenie pay rent I wonder.

I've read Wink that no, they are not according to Omid Scobie:

"Princess Eugenie, 30, and Jack Brooksbank, 34, have moved into Frogmore Cottage while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in LA. Royal expert Omid Scobie said the property is "on loan" and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to stay at their UK home when they return."

But that was in December last year, so the situation may have changed since then.

Roussette · 01/07/2021 20:57

Must be true if you read it

Nice of you to think I'm the oracle on this, I really am not.
That's what news reports have said in the past, that's all.
