I'm really curious to hear if any of your cats use it Rum. Looking forward to the action photos. 😁

JaceLancs · 11/05/2026 22:32

Finlay is looking hunky and handsome tonight! Reminds me of a deep Axminster carpet!

Finlay is a real 'pin up' of a cat!

JaceLancs · 11/05/2026 23:07

Thank you @Pianoaholic he’s such a softy

Is Finlay ever awake when he is with you @JaceLancs ?
He is a velvety cutie!😻

RumNotRun · 11/05/2026 23:43

Finlay is definitely a very handsome boy. He looks so snuggly.

Tonight Toad has decided Raven is not allowed a box on her own.

@Pudmyboy Finlay only comes home for food and sleepy cuddles! - he’s so active when out - we are his sanctuary - blissed out on my blanket just now

Is that the box the wheel came in?

OP posts:
RumNotRun · 12/05/2026 02:02

Yes it is, although there are a couple of other boxes in my living room at the moment as different cats like different boxes, and the furry buggers are spoilt!

Bin day is on Wednesday so all boxes will be leaving then.

ALL the boxes??? The cats will be reporting you for cruelty.

EmpressaurusKitty · 12/05/2026 07:08

We’ve got boxes mounting up in the hall from 2 Zooplus orders & a new microwave. I expect Kitty will get interested in them as soon as she sees me taking them away.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/05/2026 16:23

Linney has been channelling his inner Finlay, and helping me with my jigsaw.

Sort of.
🤣

I'm very pleased to see Linney has done the outside pieces first. I can't persuade my niece that this is the right order of things and doing the middle first is the route to chaos.

Would she follow Linney’s example?

RumNotRun · 12/05/2026 19:46

I have interrupted something. Possibly Raven bringing an offering to the box cats.

I wish they'd follow Linney's example. When I try doing a jigsaw I usually end up with one cat batting the pieces around, one sleeping on the box, and another sleeping on the puzzle.

We have a routine at the moment. I sit down with the blanket on my lap, Kitty snuggles in & I crochet a row, then turn it round to do the next row when she gets up. Another 20 rows or so & I’ll be onto the next row of cats, who are all done from the same side. It’s coming on nicely.

Pudmyboy · 13/05/2026 00:15

Very impressive @EmpressaurusKitty !
The border is larger than I thought (from when you posted a picture a while ago). Looks amazing, do you do commissions? 🤞🏼

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/05/2026 06:39

No border yet, I haven’t decided whether I’m going to do more pink squares at the top but I think I’ll go all round in black & white at the end.

I’m flattered @Pudmyboy but no, sorry - crochet’s purely a hobby & I do most projects over weeks or months. I could PM you a link to where I bought the pattern if you like though.

HumanToCatBeasties · 13/05/2026 07:30

I'm very impressed with your crochet too @EmpressaurusKitty I'm also impressed that Kitty is so helpful in letting you get on with it. I've got a kit for a blanket that I need to start. I suspect it's going to end up with the cats trying to join in and get covered in cat fur.

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/05/2026 07:45

This is the first one Kitty’s been interested in but I usually do cat or baby blankets, so it’s also the first really big one since she’s been here.

After I’ve washed it there might still be one or two hairs but I know my aunt won’t mind. And it will give her cat something to sniff!

Yes please, I have contacted a cat-loving friend who crochets and she is very interested in having a go at that pattern!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 13/05/2026 18:37

Wet Lettuce Man gave me a bag of wool which his late wife had had in her craft room.

I'm pretty sure he hoped that I'd knit him a jumper.

No no no no no

My friend has just become a granny for the first time, so I'm going to knit the baby some stuff.

I daresay the cats will try to pull my knitting to bits.

One of my fosters ate a piece of yarn, which led to much vomiting & a vet trip. He was ok but it wasn’t fun.
