Frankenstein has just knocked over my lounge bin, pulled all the rubbish out, and is now lying in it. He is a little weirdo. This isn't even one of the coolest rooms.

Naughty Frank!

I know! He refused to pick the rubbish up and put it in a bin bag so I had to do that for him while he was lying in his weird bed.

RumNotRun · 27/06/2026 15:26

Cats don't like water, do they? Frank apparently didn't know that.

Cooling his feet,..... hopefully not flexing his claws🐯

Finlay has been on another 3 day adventure without his tracker - I tried really hard not to worry too much but was very thankful when he came in tonight around 8 ish looking very skinny and devoured 5 sachets of wet food plus biscuits and treats

@JaceLancsglad he is back safely and with a very good appetite! I remember when a previous cat used to go walkabout for days on end in the summer. There would always be a very worried part of me until he came sauntering back each time.

Still very tired but terrible headache has finally gone.
Feeling positive and doing lots of knitting,

I would imagine that while you've been poorly you've inadvertently posted something that got you banned. I'd deny all knowledge 🤣

Finlay would not let me do my jigsaw today so had to get the slipper out and moved outside as it was cooler there later in the day

Are you doing this puzzle Jace?

(Delivery took ages, I got 4 small jigsaws, at least two of which will be presents but I have yet to decide which ones. One recipient has a cat, as a way of making this post relevant to the Litter Tray!)

I found a Da Bird toy that I’d forgotten I had & got it out to try with Kitty.

She was jumping & running like I’ve never seen her before so that’s definitely coming out more often!

It's a shame this site doesn't allow videos, I would love to see Kitty enjoying DaBird!

JaceLancs · 28/06/2026 21:55

@Pudmyboy yes well spotted!
The one in the garden was this one though - I finished the Quordle one quite quickly and had bought the dragon egg one from a local charity shop this morning for £2 when I dropped off some bits
The Quordle ones are addictive I’ve bought at least a dozen and will re purpose them as Xmas gifts but I’m getting too quick at the small ones so bought my first large one last week

Sad news from my house today. Frankie got unwell over the weekend. Phoned the emergency vet, they didn't think it sounded anything too concerning so booked an appointment for today. This morning things were worse so we got an earlier appointment. He had very enlarged kidney and his temperature was low. The vet said they could try him on bloods etc but there were no guarantees and although the procedures weren't invasive, he would be suffering, so the decision was made to PTS. He's now buried in his Halloween blanket in my garden.

RIP my funny little boy.

Oh no Rum, I’m so sorry xxxxx

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/06/2026 12:47

Very sorry to hear that @RumNotRun.
Such a character and obviously had a great life with you.
My condolences 💐

RumNotRun · 29/06/2026 13:05

I mentioned his curly whiskers to the vet, in a kind of how cute he is way, and she said that they can be an indicator of lymphoma in cats. I never knew that.

He's now sleeping in the garden, near the cats that have gone before him. At least he is no longer suffering and can rest peacefully. He didn't mix much with the other cats so they're not affected which is good. Toad and Lex have been their usual demanding selves which somehow makes it all a bit easier as I can't sit down and cry while they're shouting for food/attention/garden time!

CatsonPollock · 29/06/2026 16:14

Oh sad day 😔 @RumNotRun so sorry. 💐

Dear Frankie, sleep well. 🐈‍⬛ 🖤

Pudmyboy · 29/06/2026 16:24

So sorry @RumNotRun , goodnight lovely boy 💐
Sending a hug if you would like one 🫂
May I ask, was lymphoma a diagnosis for Frankie?

Breadcat24 · 29/06/2026 16:32

@RumNotRun Oh how sad poor Frankie and poor you.

The vet said she didn't know what was wrong with him apart from very enlarged kidneys and a low temperature.

It's scary how quickly they do downhill. He was fine on Saturday, a bit under the weather yesterday but still eating, drinking, and going to the toilet as normal, then this morning he was really lethargic.

He was a gorgeous little oddball. I'll miss hearing his tip tapping as he trots into the room, and the way he used to huff in my face when I was asleep until I woke enough to lift the duvet for him to come and have snuggles.
