Scottish Tourism - the Excellent Cats debate Gizmo's suitability as a top influencer

Yeah, right.

Linney is more suitable.

At least he's actually a Scottish cat.

Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

How is Cat One now @learieonthewildmoor

I've had an email from the housing association, telling me that I need to sign a new tenancy agreement as a single person.
Presumably that means that H has found somewhere else to live.

The speed of this suggests to me that he's been planning it for a bit, and manufactured the "trigger" argument once he'd got everything in place. Bastard!

I wondered the same thing Allergic.

DS2 is on his way to collect H's clothes.

I'm having a great time, moving all my stuff into his wardrobe and drawers.
🤣 Well I'm trying to see it as a positive.......

Note to self - write new will.
Or would a codicil suffice?
I want to bypass him and leave everything to the DC. There is no house property involved.

Does anyone know?

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 27/09/2025 14:31

You could possibly do a DIY type will? Either way, I would write a new one to ensure there can't possibly be any misinterpretation of your wishes.

Assuming you're married, you probably need to get a divorce ASAP to prevent him getting anything at all - unless his assets are worth more than yours of course.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/09/2025 14:53

Unimpressed today.
Some weaselly thieving piece of shit has opened a BOS bank account in my name.
I phoned BOS and the stupid fucking moron in the fraud department wouldn't tell me anything until I'd been through security - i.e. checking that my details match what the fraudster had told them 😭.

I logged into action fraud afterwards to discover that.
The use of another person's identification details (or the use of false identification details), often referred to as 'identity theft', is not an offence in law.
Well it sodding well should be.

I despair...

Breadcat24 · 27/09/2025 15:12

Sorry I am catching up!
@learieonthewildmoor hope cat 1 is ok
@EmpressaurusKitty I did not know Kitty was that fluffy
@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats What a F nightmare. I guess they will try to set up a number of things at the same time though- is there some software thing you can use to alert you - like crowdstrike or cifas
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I do not know where to start. You are making a lot more sense than I would be after being blindsided like that. Good for you getting angry. In terms of a will I did my will online- using a company called onlinewillwriter, completely sound and legal cost me about £30 in 2019. I cannot find them now but there are plenty of others like makeawillonline.co.uk.
Price has gone up but shop around and some more info here:

Better to make a new one if a significant change rather that a codicil as it would be more robust.

Finally
Can we rebrand gizmo as a scottish wildcat?

I'm so sorry.

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/09/2025 15:22

Okay thanks @Breadcat24
You're right. I should make a new will.

I used a will-writing service to make the current one.

As for being organised and angry - yes. I'm always organised.
I did nearly cry yesterday. But not from sorrow. Just pure unadulterated rage.

How fucking dare he do this.

He's got the car. He knows Linney has monthly Solensia injections.

We've already had one emergency trip (with Sebastian, who is fine now) and another possible one (with Gizmo and his pretend injury 🤣 and dressing gown of doom limping).

But it's awful, not being able to just get in the car.......... thankfully, Tesco's delivers here now. And there are local shops for most things, within easy walking distance.

But how dare he leave me with no means of getting all the cats to the vet's.

Is the car ownership in both your names? Are you both insured to drive? Do you have spare keys? Do you know where it is?
Steal it back and put a good old fashioned crook lock on it

learieonthewildmoor · 27/09/2025 15:29

Cat One is doing very well. The bite is healing cleanly and there is no infection. He is taking being held down and having muck smeared on his paws twice a day with a great deal of complaining and growling, but no hard feelings. Though a bastard cat, he is a good bastard.
Grumpy, demand from now on proof of cat ownership be required. Let’s see some arsehole fake the fluffiness. I hope it is sorted soon.
Can we all have some good news now?

Edited

I am insured to drive the car.
I have my key.
I do not know where H is. The car is legally his because it's a Motability vehicle.

He could be in the next village for all I know. I'd be stealing the car if I drove it away.
Tempting thought though. 🤣

And I'm not the sort of person who keys cars or throws rocks on them

Seriously? It's not illegal???
Wha- how- I am speechless, that has floored me.
And the idiot wanting you to match the faker's security details......time to contact a national newspaper or TV consumer show?
Good luck Grumpy I hope it is all sorted now

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/09/2025 15:37

Can we all have some good news now?

Yes! The new dementia choir which we started in the next village is having a write-up in the paper. It was very well attended on our opening session.

We thought maybe 5 or 10 people would come. 30 rocked up! It was a very joyous occasion.

We had to scramble to get more chairs out and to make space for the four wheelchair users who came.

Everyone said they would come back again.
Maybe they're hoping that there will be free ice cream every week

Yes, sadly we cannot assume the HA is stunningly efficient.
He could have just sat you down and said he wanted out of the relationship, the utter weasel.🤬

Breadcat24 · 27/09/2025 15:38

@learieonthewildmoor In terms of good news I have just come back from north york moors- Saltburn and Helmsley and managed not to kill a pheasant. There are packs of them rushing into the road around every bend! They seem hell bent on self destruction.
What can I say- North Yorkshire needs more cats. Nearly everyone had a dog, buy no NMHCs to be found.
There was a statue to a cat though

Actually, they are if someone is in great need. This is Argyll, after all.
It's possible that they've put him in temporary accommodation and will house him properly in the fullness of time.

@Breadcat24 may I congratulate you on your excellent posts today, I love the expression on that wild cat's face! And the tale of Hendrix: how lovely, what a great personality and marvellous that he is going to be immortalised in bronze.
How are you today?

Okay, I've done something awful.

H has (or rather had) various fairly expensive items in the bathroom.
Most of them were bought in bulk to save money.

I took them all to the village charity shop this morning. They were very gratefully received.

I hope he goes in there............. he wouldn't be able to avoid seeing them, as it's a very small charity shop.

Still. All in a good cause, eh? If he buys the stuff back he'll be supporting the village's Church of Scotland to get a new roof.

@Pudmyboy and @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
Thank you for asking. Have to say still waking at 5am despite there being no cat asking for breakfast!
Came back from our trip away to a card from the vet which was very sweet.
Was reminded by ex- neighbour that winter was coming and Shadow was outside ( felt awful) but have said that we would only consider Shadow if we had something in writing from his owner to say they were happy to transfer his ownership.
Still not quite ready yet and if I go to the shelter I will want them all.

Breadcat24 · 27/09/2025 15:57
