Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

I am leisurely reading through all the responses and so far my favourite is 'you know what is cheap? A comb and paper', I am still chuckling at the idea of someone playing the wedding march on a comb and paper! I hope the thread goes into Classics!

Kettle hasn't eaten his dinner 😕

Hopefully he just has a tummy ache or something and he'll eat it later but it's very unlike him to refuse food so a bit worrying.

Maybe the stitches in his mouth after having his fang out are hurting him - he only had painkillers for 3 days so none today.

Hopefully nothing more serious than that. He'll sniff it if I hold it out to him but not even a lick...

Wishing a rapid recovery to Kettle.

I took a pile of books to the village charity shop.

I tried various apps for selling them, and was doing fine, until it came to getting the label to post them.

I would have had to take them 18 miles away to a little shop in the next village. Fuck that. The app pretended that it would be possible to get the parcels collected....... until it saw my address.

Oh well. The village charity shop was very glad of the donation. I know H goes in there, so he can buy them all back, along with his dressing gown of doom, which was on the back of the bathroom door.

Ooh and I got rid of several cans of lager. I decided to donate them to the village food bank, along with a few other odds and sods.
You just go to the cupboard and put your stuff in, and take out anything you need.

Readers, I found 48 pouches of cat food in there. Yay me! That was lucky.

No chickens though.

Does anyone follow Whisks to Whiskers on FB? They've taken Baby Corn to Rome! That sweet little kitten got a holiday. I am now trying to persuade my friend to let me bring a cat to Lithuania next month. The hotel is pet friendly.

I'm sceptical about whether cats enjoy leaving their established territory. Isn't the cat stressed?

Mini Pollock 'punishes' us by occasionally refusing food if she decides to be upset by any change to her routine. And of course we then obediently placate her with treats and tidbits until she 'forgives' us. 🙄

I’ve been on holiday in Turkey for past couple of weeks and Finlay has not left my side since I returned!

@EsgarothHe looks pretty happy and content to me. I think some of mine would hate it, but a couple have gone individually to stay at my ex's flat for random reasons (vet trip/heal wounds/not go outside when I had a cat flap) and they have all settled in really quickly and easily. Maybe they just enjoyed having a holiday away from me! 😁

My Agent Of The Patriarchy just tried to feed Cat Three some new fancy sachets of food. (Dine, not Fancy Feast.)
Cat Three responded by looking at the food, then looking up at Mr. AOTP with his disappointed and confused look. Repeated a couple of times. Mr. AOTP has not yet ordered the Fancy Feast online as he needs to. Might have to wear my “boys are stupid” T shirt tomorrow.
Ordered some cushion covers, approved by One and Four. They got the order wrong, sent this photo as proof of receipt. Hope they’re not dog lovers.

One is clearly instructing Four in how to critique fabrics.

I had a random thought about getting my hair dyed to match Kitty’s fur (it’s impossible to do proper justice to her colours in a photo) & Google brought up examples of people who’d actually done it. Mainly on TikTok.

I don't think he's quite well because he was also slow to eat his breakfast. Not a serious thing and very normal for many cats, but knowing him I can say he's not himself.

He's going to the vet on Thursday to have the stitches out and I'll mention it if he still seems out of sorts.

Kitty does have lovely coloured fur. I have the hair of our old German pointer - dark brown with plenty of white in it 😄

Poor Kettle.

I think if I could just do it once & that was it, I probably would - just not up for repeated maintenance!

@Esgaroth now the painkillers have been stopped he could just be feeling very sore and bruised. Some teeth can put up a fight so maybe the vet had to rag it out and it's caused the jaw/hinge to bruise. It takes me weeks to start eating properly after a root canal/extraction just because of the bruising and having my mouth fixed wide open for a long time - the jaw muscles really hate that. Do mention it though at checkup jic.

@Esgaroth Poor Kettle hope he perks up, I must admit to being very thankful for lickelix which is soft when cats were under the weather.

Poor Kettle! I hope he is back to his handsome self very soon but it does sound like it may take a little bit of time.
