Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

SW London - drizzly rainy day so the cats have been in most of the day, just a few mad dashes out to sit under the laurel bush and then 5 minutes later hurtling back through the cat flap. But now I can hear the wind picking up. Front garden will be full of leaves and twigs from the plane trees in the road tomorrow. But at least the **ing pigeons probably won't want to roost in the tree tonight and poop on the car like they usually do!

Rubbish weather here but it hasn't sounded too ferocious (touch wood!).

I am being watched and possibly judged. I am quite surprised that Raven managed to get her fat bum up so high, and didn't break the cabinet!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne have you thought about selling his books? There are a few apps, Music Magpie is one, where you scan the book barcodes and they tell you how much they'll pay. You just then box them all up, send them off, and get the money in your account.

I never thought about Music Magpie but I could certainly give it a go.

We've just had a three hour power cut.

I should have expected it and prepared for it. After the last one, we bought those little camping stoves, but they're out in the garden lockbox. I wish I'd brought one in.

Or I could've filled some flasks with boiling water (or tea) .......... but I didn't.

I started to feel distressed after getting a series of texts from SSEN telling me that my power would be restored on MONDAY evening.

Then I decided that all I had to do tonight was go to bed, and wake up in the daylight. I could find the camping stove and all would be well.

Anyway. The power came back on a little while ago, so I quickly boiled the kettle and filled two flasks.

And one bad thing was that Gizmo had diarrhoea during the power cut (luckily in the litter tray). I couldn't open the window to get rid of the noxious odour as Linney would have shot out. He's so fast.

I don't think she's seen him up there but it's very unlike her to do something so energetic, so maybe she has! She can be a bit of a meanie, so I can imagine her going up there just to piss Fred off, not that he noticed cause there's a new box for him to sit on.

That was my first thought but not much hope of it!

I have just met one of the most regal and beautiful/handsome cats that I have seen round here.

That's exactly what I thought.
I was rummaging in the garden container place to find the camping stove, and discovered yet more cat litter.
I seem to have large quantities of it at the moment. Oh well.

And tins of soup etc.

Did you lose a load of freezer stuff though?

My last freezer conked out about two months ago and I had to chuck everything away.
I got compensation from the insurance company. Then I bought a new one.

I'm hoping that the contents of the new one will have survived. I didn't open the door during the power cut.

That would definitely have been Linney & Gizmo’s first concern.

The electricity is back on now.

I haven't even got a chicken in the freezer or the fridge at the moment, but don't tell them.
