Yeah, right.

Linney is more suitable.

At least he's actually a Scottish cat.

Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

Warning- every cat we have had has always thrown up in 3 servings. So much so that if we found 1 we hunted for other hidden throw ups.
Best regards to Kitty - she probably need something bland like freshly roasted chicken to settle her stomach

Once I treated Pud to some posh wet cat food from Waitrose, think it was Lily's or something. Anyway he gobbled it down but it was obviously too rich for him and it returned...you know how cats can, er, project forwards whilst scrabbling backwards?
Did that, five times, one after the other in a continuous line. Had a lovely long streak of brown stomach contents to clean off a cream rug.
Pud was fine thankfully and remained a cheap date till the end of his days, except for liking M&S chargrilled chicken but only when first opened. Miss him.

Welcome back Lost. Very sorry to hear you're still struggling with your health.

Linney, trying to persuade me to open the curtains and let him out into a terrible rainstorm.

I did not allow this.

How unkind of you.

Kitty’s having an evening snack.

It's lovely to see you back here!

Just (Cat)ching up with the thread!
I have had a lot on at work, stuff I've been asked to do at the last minute without much preparation.
Hope Kettle and Kitty are OK. Herbie is a more sicky cat than my last one. I think he gobbles his food down too quickly and greedily at times. Not sure if he's been next door for dog food recently. It occurs to me that it may not be good for him.
Here he is loitering in the kitchen as usual, near the new cat patterned oven glove!

Cat Three had to go to the vet. I feel bad because he was so concerned, but I also laughed.
He will not come near us for 16 hours (until his memory cache empties) and will be extremely hesitant about being touched for two weeks.

Kettle sends his sympathies and hopes the vet isn't too mean.

EmpressaurusKitty · 03/10/2025 09:23

Kitty’s fine, thanks. Normal appetite, demanding fuss & playing with her toys.

What’s up with Cat Three, @learieonthewildmoor?

Poor cat 3. Incarcerated in cat prison.
He does look very upset.

LostCats2 · 03/10/2025 11:03

Ah thanks guys! See, this is why this is the nicest part of Mumsnet! Lovely cat friends!
I do hope Cat 3 is ok @learieonthewildmoor 💙

I do giggle every time I see your first post on this thread @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

I finally "got" Agatha with the dreaded Felpreva spot-on the other night. She looked so betrayed! Ran straight outside and didn't come back for hours. Then got revenge by jumping on and off the top of the wardrobe / my bed until 4am. Her need for bum scritches has overridden her sulking, and we're getting back to normal today.

I’ve just been reading the Storm Amy thread & I’m telling myself I have to go & get my shopping done before the rain gets any harder.

Is everyone else ok?

I got soaked today.
Tesco's we'lre unable to deliver because the Oban road was flooded.

So muggins had to go to the Co-Op.

I figured that while I was getting drenched, I might as well take some more crap of H's to the village charity shop.

That killed two birds with one stone, as I now have even more space in the cupboards.

I've only got to get rid of his books now, then there will be no evidence that he ever lived here.

When I got divorced I was the one to move out (ex had the tenancy on the council flat) but one of the things I loved most, once I was living on my own, was filling the place with stuff I liked & not having to think about anyone else’s taste.

Of course my flat is now full of Kitty’s stuff but that’s different.

learieonthewildmoor · 03/10/2025 17:34

Cats One through Three needed their cat flu booster. We take them one week at a time because everyone scatters once they see/hear someone Going Into The Scary Box, and quite frankly, I find the whole production extremely stressful even though our vets are lovely.
Cat Four is going next week to have the last of her matted fur trimmed off. My Agent Of The Patriarchy isn’t confident about trimming it himself. Then that’s it for the vet this year, unless someone else gets bitey.
We have to drug Four. Hopefully she’ll be easy like Cat One.

Everyone stay safe and don’t get get flooded or blown away.

LostCats2 · 03/10/2025 18:45

So we've not had much rain at all in our corner of London, but I just said to the DC (children not cats - although I would say it to the cats if either were awake!) that the sky is a strange colour - it's fully overcast but the clouds are pink?!
Bit odd but pretty. Almost like the sky before it snows... it's not going to snow is it 😳

(I know it isn't - sadly)

Pianoaholic · 03/10/2025 18:46

Getting rough here in Bath. Herbie is wisely staying indoors.
Mainly going between his sleeping spot on the sofa and the kitchen, in search of snacks.

Weather's been rubbish here west of London. The boys have been out a few times but each time they just run under a car and then demand readmiitance 10 minutes later.
Basil and Sybil have stayed in (don't blame them).

In non-cat related news I'm off to an all day West Gallery Music workshop in Esher tomorrow. That'll make a change 😁.

Breadcat24 · 03/10/2025 19:31

@LostCats2 lovely to have you back!
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne be careful you do not damage yourself shifting books can be very heavy.
Weather in Yorkshire is properly vile

Pudmyboy · 03/10/2025 20:26

Bloody miserable all day in the Midlands, weather-wise. I had to go out in it but one of the joys of this sort of weather is that it's lovely to get back indoors, dry off, make whatever is your preferred tipple, (mine's a cuppa) and today I have put the heating on. So it's lashing up a storm outside but I am snug as the proverbial bug.
Hope everyone is safe, human, feline and any other lifeforms you all live with.

Pudmyboy · 03/10/2025 20:35

To all of you giving a cat some medication, I present this screenshot of a Simon's Cat cartoon, sorry for the poor quality and hope your felines don't exact this kind of revenge:
