Am absolutely blindsided. Thought she has pain from Arthritis and had a bad reaction to Gabapentin. Took her to the OOH vet early this morning as she couldn't stand. And they just thought she had severe pain. Then she started fitting. She was referred to Neurology at a specialist hospital. But was too unstable to transfer. She was minimally conscious by the time I got there. But perked up when she saw me.
She was the most amazing, affectionate, cuddly cat you could ever meet. Such a huge personality. I thought we had years left. It'll be weird to be able to eat unmolested and have a bath in peace.

@Compash, I suppose that's right about the vet. I also have absolutely no issue with the original diagnosis of Arthritis. As until she started fitting, that's what we thought it was.

Oh no, I'm so sorry, that is very sad news. I'm not on the Litter Tray so often these days (not sure why) but Cheddar was always quite the celeb on here.

So sorry to hear this. The last post of yours I read was that you'd taken Cheddar to the vet and they'd staged a miraculous recovery (typical puss).

I really feel for you. My cat is a total sod (we have the scars to prove it), but we love her to bits. Her name actually means 'beloved'. I'd be devastated to lose her.

Cheddar looks like a beautiful cat and I know you have lots of good memories. Best wishes.

I've been a lurker on the adventures of cheddar and Penelope threads of a while and realise what a special cat Cheddar was
