I'm amazed that the first thread has filled up. So he's another thread about the inmates of Toddler Towers!

He's a bigger, less in your face version of Cheddar. He follows me around!

Penelope is definitely relaxing a bit, she is still refusing to come out of my bedroom. But she got off the windowsill on her own. She jumped on me twice when I was asleep and gave me a heart attack! Paddington wanted letting in this morning, so I let him. Hrs not bothered about her. He just wants attention from me.

Just wondering how to manage his greed, so she still gets her food. He's a piglet Micro chip feeders are so expensive.

You only need to buy one microchip cat feeder for Penelope and they come up on Facebook marketplace regularly or often are reduced on Amazon Prime Day if you want to track prices on Camelcamelcamel. You can buy replacement bowls (I prefer them in stainless steel) if you buy secondhand.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/05/2024 11:02

@Catname good idea!

I had some a few years ago. But could work out how to get them to use them. But I was doing it in a hurry as it was urgent.

Once Penelope has been programmed in, it’s quite easy to use. The issue may be getting her to use it thereafter. The first one I bought to counteract food stealing took my cat 6 months to use willingly on her own, the second took about 6 hours since cat 2 had seen what cat 1 was doing for so long.

The issue now is preventing cat 3 from gobbling up his food quickly then pushing cat 2 out of the way and snaffling his food too before the feeder closes on him. He has it down to a fine art. Cat 3 knows not to attempt this with cat 4’s feeder! 😀

Hopefully if I get a strategy to feed Paddington first so he doesn't steal her food. It might be ok. I haven't finished emptying the sachet into his bowl and his big head is in it. 😂

Both glorious cats - I know you will get this sorted and in a few weeks we will have a picture of the two curled up together

Soubriquet · 20/05/2024 16:59

Flat faced cats and dogs always remind me of my grandad.

He used to say “they look like they were chasing a bus and the bus came to a sudden stop” Grin

Breadcat24 · 20/05/2024 17:14

@Soubriquet i thought from the title of the your post that your grandad was flat faced

Soubriquet · 20/05/2024 17:17

Hahaha. Nope.

I really hope so. At the minute I'm worried that I've ruined Penelope's life. I really thought she'd put him in his place. I was not expecting a Cheddar mark 2!!

I was worried about Cat Two, she was very put out by Cat Three. Give it at least two months.

Soubriquet · 20/05/2024 18:28

If he keeps scoffing food he will be!!

Toddlerteaplease · 20/05/2024 20:48

@Soubriquet that's exactly what my sister says!

Given the amount of just swept from under the tray with the food on, he must be throwing around more than he's eating! I've never met such a messy eater.

Paddington is sitting on my knee for the first time!

OP posts:

Actually he wasn't sitting. He was lying on his back with his legs straight up
In the air. I'm dying. 🤣🤣🤣

He sounds like he’s really found his feet with you

Toddlerteaplease · 21/05/2024 04:28

I take back every comment about Pad's being less on your face than Cheddar. Having him on the bed is an experience. he doesn't make biscuits on my face, but it's like being hit by a bus when he demands a cuddle. This boy is completely and utterly bonkers!

Toddlerteaplease · 21/05/2024 04:39

Penelope has just jumped off the windowsill straight on to me. These cats will be the death of me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It really looks like she’s becoming ok with him which is great news. Meanwhile, I feel like the worst owner ever…I’ve had to shut my cat in the bathroom with her litter tray and food cos we are moving today and I don’t want her to escape the house. She’s already really skittish because of all the noise. I hate that I have to trap her but she will get over it

Toddlerteaplease · 21/05/2024 18:17

@Soubriquet I saw your other thread. I hope you'll be very happy in your new home!
