Please don't flame me I'm here for advice.

My 'house' cat has just given birth to 1 kitten, I did not know she was expecting, no real weight gain and she is a longhair so has disguised this well. The 1s

SirVixofVixHall · 31/07/2023 08:08

Very sweet kittens OP. Sounds as though Mama Cat is doing really well.

ClairDeLaLune · 31/07/2023 08:36

Awwwww OP congratulations on your grand-kittens! They’re all gorgeous! What a lovely story, but your DD must’ve been having kittens herself when you were away!! 😻😻😻😻

FlibbertyGibbitt · 31/07/2023 08:45

Ahh both beautiful kitten pics! Both the tabby and white and the Ragdolls ❤️

ParrotsAteThemAll · 31/07/2023 08:49

What little beauties, I’m very jealous 😻😻

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 31/07/2023 09:26

Mum has finally eaten, wolfed down her kitten food and kitten milk.

Managed to get a pick of the kitties cuddled up together 😻

they are gorgeous, what are you going to do with them OP?

Made4Sunshine · 31/07/2023 09:38

What a lovely surprise !

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 31/07/2023 09:46

Sorry loads keep asking what I plan to do with them, defo won't be keeping them as much as I would love a home full of cats it's practically not going to work for me.

Hopefully re home within the family/wider family and friends. Have WhatsApp to my friends and family the 'birth' announcement 😂 and they are fighting over who gets them!

My cat (when I was little) only had 2 kittens. she was a tiny cat and the two kittens were both really big (ended up becoming much taller and longer than their mother). So yeah, I suppose she was fairy lucky there weren’t more kittens (or it was just nature taking care of herself, no clue).

small litters do however seem to surprise many people. I still remember being incredibly shocked when a neighbour asked whether we had a vet put the other litter mates to sleep 😱😱

anyhow, how cute 😍

LaughOutInTheGrass · 31/07/2023 10:17

They’re very cute of course.

But poor cat, she’s already been got rid of by one owner and now this. I’d be giving my daughter a bollocking for not telling me and being completely irresponsible. How do you forget that an unspayed house cat got out? If you had known she could have been spayed after getting out and had an early abortion.

I hope you can find them forever homes that actually are forever. Everyone wants a kitten or a cat for a while, not so much an older cat, as this mum cat already found out.

Muffincupcakeheeler · 31/07/2023 10:25

I came to see the kitten pictures and they didn't disappoint, they are so adorable 😍

I think this is a bit mean! I'm sure OP will make sure that the kittens go to great homes. Many people live cats throughout their whole lives, not just when they are tiny, cute bundles of mischief.

Iamacatslave · 31/07/2023 10:35

Congratulations. Gorgeous cat and kittens.

BloodyHellKen · 31/07/2023 10:45

How lovely, congratulations @ludicrouslycapaciousbags 😊
We've never had tiny kittens, only adult cats from the rescue. I'd love a kitten some day though, or two !!

I didn’t intend for if to be mean so I apologise if it came across that way. I see animals discarded and dumped regularly, I get very frustrated and and want to get across that reminding that having animals should be a life long commitment and need responsible owners, amongst all the ‘they’re so cute’ type posts. Of course they are cute and I really do hope they all go to good homes for their entire lives. I hope OP insists they are all spayed/neutered and gets her own cat spayed ASAP.

Again, apologies if my post sounded mean. More frustration after a particularly difficult couple of weeks.

Do you have any idea how determined a cat in heat will be to get out?

She will fit through the smallest gaps possible just to find a tom

They totally will - one of ours once smashed through a locked catflap!

Wineinthegarden · 30/07/2023 22:10

That’s so gorgeous! She made the most of her 48 hours outside!

Not funny. Poor cat.

BrownieNut · 31/07/2023 11:22

@LaughOutInTheGrass well my 4yo cat went missing for 3 days recently. In your world I’d have been rubbing my hand together at the idea of replacing him with a kitten. Here on the real world I was gutted and so relieved when he turned up.
