Please don't flame me I'm here for advice.

My 'house' cat has just given birth to 1 kitten, I did not know she was expecting, no real weight gain and she is a longhair so has disguised this well. The 1s

Oh my goodness. "Cat carried guilty secret after 48 hour party binge while parents away". If she were in a take a break article ! So happy she's ok and can't wait for pictures

Oooh 3? How cute. What will you do with them all do you think? Keep one for you and cat mum and give 2 to your DD as punishment for letting her out? 😜😆

That's the best punishment I've ever heard!!

Passthecoffee · 30/07/2023 20:57

I'm just place marking for the pictures!

Thank thank thank you for all the lovely messages.

We now have 3! Mum is doing a fabulous job they all seem to be feeding.

Vet said the same as above poster that if there is no complications then no need for them to intervene.

So the mystery of how this happened... counted back the weeks and I was abroad and daughter was looking after her, rather upset daughter confess to the cat getting out for 48 hrs... didn't want to tell me when I was away then apparently forgot 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pictures to follow...

Aww I'm so glad she's ok! What a shock for you as well.

Also here for some cute kitty pictures; currently my puss cat is on my knee purring away. Also a house cat and we adopted her from cat protection so she'd already been neutered. Tbh I'd love a kitten but DH says 2 under 5s, one of them a crazy toddler and this crazy cat under 5 is enough ha...

Aw, we were adopted by a stray once who came and gave birth to 4 kittens in our back porch. Lovely thing to watch it happen, I’ll never forget how fabulous mum was. Could tell when one was coming out because of how loud mum purred!

check back with her pix soon OP.

Oh cross posted - is mum a ragdoll OP? Can’t make the kittens out. Grin

cinnamonfrenchtoast · 30/07/2023 21:35

How cute!

Please make sure she gets spayed though, you don't just risk pregnancy but pyometra too and it can quickly be fatal Sad

HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas · 30/07/2023 21:37

Your Dd must have been so stressed in those 48hrs!

YoBeaches · 30/07/2023 21:38

GeorgeSpeaks · 30/07/2023 22:06

I don't know anything about this, but should you offer her a delicious meal in a couple of hours? A bit like the toast offered by midwives after women give birth. Although I didn't bloody get any.

Wineinthegarden · 30/07/2023 22:10

That’s so gorgeous! She made the most of her 48 hours outside!

RosesAndHellebores · 30/07/2023 22:17

Someone more expert than me will be along but I think you give nursing queens kitten food.

Congratulations.

Tinysoxx · 30/07/2023 22:24

Is she a ragdoll? And do you have a big tabby Tom cat that prowls round?!

I went to see some similar kittens but they were all ginger. The women said she only escaped for an hour and they had no idea what the dad was. She was very upset. Just then there was a thud at the window and the most enormous ginger Tom cat peered through and pawed at the window. He had massive scratches on his nose and ears but lots of character! Even she had to laugh.

Seasideanticscanleadtosandybuckets · 30/07/2023 22:29

My dd had 2 really rowdy dc. I had 2 quiet one. Her dcat had 5 dkittens in our cupboard. A week prior to moving. They all came with us! In time the dm went home and we rehomed all but 2...
Ahem maybe I might have kept them....
