Names for ginger kittens - and more!

Yesterday this dear cat and her five kittens were bought to me for fostering. Mum is an unchipped stray who gave birth in a greenhouse six days ago. They all seem healthy, are feeding well and mum is calm and friendly.

I don't usually name my foster cats but as these will be with me for at least three months I feel like I should. We think the three gingers are male and the two tabbies (one very dark but still noticeable stripes) female - I like Clementine for mum but would love ideas for the babies. I'm also posting because I just wanted to share my happiness at this lovely job I've been given!

@NeverendingCircus that's so interesting. I know different breeds have specific characteristics but with moggies I'd assumed it was just individual cat's, not colours/types. I've never lived with a ginger cat before but everything you say about your dear old ginger tom is true for Clementine - I'm amazed by her sweet nature, she's always calm, competent, affectionate and has been so adaptable.

I wonder how she became a stray and found herself giving birth in a stranger's greenhouse - I've done a lot of internet sleuthing to try and find out if she's someone's lost pet but found nothing. I hope we find a wonderful home for her in a few weeks 🧡

Oh my days they are the cutest!

@DesolationRow I adore her already. I can see from her face that she will be a typical ginger - gentle, patient, friendly, clever. I'd love to offer her a home but our old boy would feel he was being replaced.

And all the kittens are beauties. You should find homes for them easily.
