Names for ginger kittens - and more!

Yesterday this dear cat and her five kittens were bought to me for fostering. Mum is an unchipped stray who gave birth in a greenhouse six days ago. They all seem healthy, are feeding well and mum is calm and friendly.

I don't usually name my foster cats but as these will be with me for at least three months I feel like I should. We think the three gingers are male and the two tabbies (one very dark but still noticeable stripes) female - I like Clementine for mum but would love ideas for the babies. I'm also posting because I just wanted to share my happiness at this lovely job I've been given!

We had a ginger cat called Peter. He came to us as a stray. He was a prick

When I was a child we had a ginger called copper and a tabby and ginger called florin.
They had 3 kittens which were named tuppence, threepence and shilling.
My current ginger is called caramel.
I also had a tortie called splodge.

I once had a ginger kitten called Bundles lol everyone kept saying what a bu dle of fun he is and he ended up being called Bundles 😅 he lived till he was almost 18. Its the only ginger cat I ever had all the rest are black white etc lol

Orlando! @CatChant and @LabLabrador thank you, this is the name I had forgotten! I loved Orlando the Marmalade Cat books, just googled and had a huge blast of nostalgia at the cover images. One ginger kitten is definitely Orlando.

@YouNeverSeeTheRealMe Kitty was the name of my beloved childhood tabby cat, my dad found her as a tiny kitten on a building site. She went missing when I was eleven and was found almost a year later, grey and skinny but still recognisable as my Kitty. Over the next few months we realised she was very ill, maybe due to all those months wandering, and she soon died. This is probably why I love being given the chance to foster stray cats particularly, keeping them warm, safe and well fed until rehomed.

They're all doing really well @TheShellBeach Little round bellies always full of milk, Clementine is such a good mum to them and really affectionate to me too. She must have been a much-loved pet once (though unchipped and unneutered 🙄). Obviously we don't know how long she's been a stray but it's hard to believe she's not being missed somewhere by someone. Maybe she was dumped for being pregnant but judging by her health and attitude to me I don't think that likely. I've had a look on fb pages close to where she was found but none like her have been reported missing. I suppose this will be a new start for her.

So cute. I was going to say fred, George and ron for the boys. Love Hermione for one of the girls but can't think of another girl in Harry potter with dark brown hair. Unrelated tabby girl names I like are mog, treacle, malteaser, marmite.
