Hi mumsnetters. I’ve been to view this gorgeous cat today. Pending a home check, I’ve reserved him and will be bringing him home next week! I’m in love.

Rodney surprised me last night to be honest as I didn’t expect him to be so sociable!

He does still need ‘fetching’ initially and doesn’t really approach me much- but I never force him to stay and once he’s on the sofa/my knee he’s very happy to stay there!

I’ve got a raging sore throat today and Sir Rodders is keeping me company- can’t see either of us moving any time soon!

aaaah i am so jealous.

We have a cat from a rescue- 8 years now. She will never sit on our laps but when we are asleep likes to have a little wet sloppy nibble of our hair.

One day she will be Little Miss Lap Cat I am sure.

A sore throat is how I started before a two week head cold, stock up on tissues, lots of tissues!

My partner ended our relationship out of the blue a few months ago. I went from being in what I thought was a ridiculously loving and happy relationship to being on my own, in a flash. Since then, I’ve been to hell and (definitely not quite) back to be honest and have struggled a lot with being lonely. Rodney’s helping massively with that and his company is a huge comfort- hence my adoration for him!

Nothing beats cat affection. Dogs are too slavish and give their love too easily IMO. Cat cuddles, like respect, are earned. Once that favour is bestowed you know you are in their circle of trust.
