Hi mumsnetters. I’ve been to view this gorgeous cat today. Pending a home check, I’ve reserved him and will be bringing him home next week! I’m in love.

Coaxed him out of the carrier with some treats and now left him to settle in for a bit to get used to his new home! Wasn’t shy about tucking in to his first meal here

Ah he better get used to being photographed , his pictures will be much in demand . He'll probably be photoed more in the next month than he has in his entire life

I always change an animal's name even if I know their original , they have a new name for their new life , and if I'm very lucky , they might even answer to it ( or more likely to the sound of the Dreamies tub )

He is a handsome lad , i hope he settles in well .
if he will wear one try taking him out in a harness the first few times so he can get to know his area without getting lost. then when he goes out alone leave something smelling of him ( stroke him with a old sock / tshirt etc before he goes out ) by the door you let him out of so he can smell himself when he gets back home

A massive welcome home to Rodney from my very own ginger lovebug, Flynn.

He has a very similar story, he is also 6 and we picked him up from the rescue 2 years ago…. He marched out of his box, onto our bed, fell asleep for the afternoon, sang to us alllll night, and has spent every waking minute since making himself as close to either me or DH as possible, sleeping in all sorts of absolutely ridiculous poses.

After a life of the streets, he now shouts for luxury cat food, has a grump at us if we dare change the brand and taps us into position for the correct type of cuddle that he wants…

Flynn wishes Rodney as happy an ending as he has and advises him to start training you by using his shoutiest meow to convince you he is DYING of hunger at least 2 hours before each meal, so you never get fed more a second late.

How's His Excellency this morning OP?

Gosh- I really like Flynn! He definitely knows what he wants and means business doesn’t he!

He had a settled first night but a bit wary and hiding on the shelf this morning. I’m leaving him to it for the most part to settle in but popping in from to time, letting him approach my hand for a stroke and hopefully getting him used to me.

Cutie I bet in no time at all he will find his way to your comfy lap for allllll the fuss 😍

Billy says you get used to things, I’m desperate to go out and explore, mum says not yet 10 days to go!

Rodney’s decided to give me the fright of my life tonight by disappearing for a few hours. Even though I knew rationally that he couldn’t have got outside, I was still frantic that he miraculously had. Eventually found him… see below. I’ve left him where he is and hoping the food I’ve left out will coax him out! Already keeping me on my toes.
