Thought it would be lovely to have a thread showing photos of our rescues cats and how they ended up living with you.

We are owned by two rescues. A Devon Rex boy who joined us when he was 4 from the Rex Welfare Rescue. Our girl is a Calico cat found living at bottom of someone garden. We got her as a young kitten. They’ve bonded beautifully although our boy can get grumpy when she gets too playful or attempts to give him a good wash!

Strangely she barely meows and communicates only with “vvrrrbbbbb” or “bbrrrrppp”s! She loves to chat with me but never meowing. I’ve never met a cat like her!
All cats are amazing of course but Torties are a special type of amazing!

This is my handsome boy adopted from the SSPCA. He has feline asthma, a heart murmur, inflammatory bowel disease and many allergies. He also came to me with a broken jaw. Had him 8yrs now.

Here is our cat that we got from someone that had rescued her but then got a puppy the same week 🙄She'd been found alone in a hedge and was only 4/5 weeks old, way too young to be rehomed really and almost didn't make it. She turns 11 this year. Because she's been with us since so young and didn't really know her mother we dont think she consequently doesnt realise she is a cat and thinks she is a human. Here she is with her brother, my son. I don't know why people are funny about black cats, I love them!

My three rescue babies!

Ivy (shorthair tuxedo) - thrown out of a moving cat at a few weeks old. Thankfully the people behind saw and pulled over and managed to catch her and take her to a rescue. She is 5 now and the biggest love bug in the world! Loves alllllll the cuddles and strokes.

Betsy (longhair tuxedo) - found in a garden at around a week old and hand reared by the same rescue. Now 2 years old. The most standoffish ca in the whole world but it makes you feel extra special when she deigns to grace your knee with her presence.

Alfie (the little reprobate) - our newest addition! Found on a main road soaked through, filthy, covered in fleas and full of flu at about 5 weeks old. Now 5 months. Loves playing with his new sisters, Ivy can often be found pinning him down to wash behind his ears. He adores snuggles and lays in my arms and rolls onto his back so he can be cradled like a baby. I hope he keeps doing that as he grows!!

My three rescues getting very excited over a new box! And also pictures of them as kittens.

They are obsessed with boxes…. And will no doubt be fighting over who gets to sit in it all week. I am totally, hopelessly and madly in love with them.

This is my girl Luna, adopted her 2 years ago from our local cat rescue. She was under a year old when we got her and had 2 litters already because her owner at the time couldn’t be bothered to get her neutered and just let her roam outside.
She’s a clever, funny, cuddly little diva who loves bringing us unwanted presents 😁

This little menace is 5, his previous owners couldn’t keep him as their new rental only allowed one pet and they had several. He’s a dickhead but we love him.

My beautiful Rosie, given up by her previous owner as she didn’t want her anymore. I’ve had her just over 2 years now and she’s the most loving cuddly cat ever. Realised why her former keeper didn’t want her when she needed 9 months of expensive vet treatment as soon as I got her, but it was well worth it as she is the most perfect companion.

Is she Bengal?

We got this leggy little gremlin from the RSPCA. Now 6kg of cuddles & ridiculous sleeping positions.

That's one of Harry's distant relations! He's also a rescue and we've been owned by him for nearly 15 years now

Susiesue61 · 09/01/2023 19:25

Our beautiful Liam and Evie, we adopted them as kittens from the RSPCA in the summer ❤️ They were 2 of a litter of 6. They followed Steven and Fernando who were kittens of a cat who no one could be bothered to neuter, and Peter who was adopted aged about 8 (I have no pics of Peter!!) Nando is the ginger, sadly missed 💕

Beautiful cats - rescues are the best ❤️

mine are Bonnie - fluffy princess adopted 8 years ago
Bernard - long tabby 7 years old from the same rescue
Fat Ben - tabby and white - 3 years old RSPCA rescue- left in the street with a broken leg
Feral Bandit - little wobbly boy who was found with a huge abscess on his back
Sammy - once a skinny ginger found as a stray but now a big fat monster- he’s scared of everything!
also in the group shot - a big visiting entire Tom we call Bens Dad - he seems to like our garden!

Homelykind · 10/01/2023 01:29

was such a nervous timid cat when we first got him, didn’t really like us touching him too much, kept his distance, but now the most affectionate soppy boy.

This is Ernie, he turned up in the garden one day like a wee waif, and he is. He’s the most loving cat I’ve ever known. He’s doubled in weight:.. eats each meal like it’s his last 😂

Ernie, meet Eric (rescue from RSPCA).

This is Dougal. He is about to turn 6. We found him at Windyways shelter in Macclesfield when he was 8 weeks old! He was already named and we kept it because he looked like Father Dougal. He's a totally nutty cross of 50% Collie and 25% each of Labrador and Bernese Mountain Dog. He's a massive PITA and yelps like a seal. But we're stuck with him because we love him ❤️
