Cap'n is very sophisticated in his eating habits, Supersimkin2. I can imagine him saying to you after the guests have left, 'No need for all that parsley next time, Super. Just chop me some chorizo and peel me some grapes.'

Thanks for all the sympathy and advice about my crappy week. I really ought to go over to the dog board but I'm too scared they'll advise me to have her put down. Lots to think about. I did some research last night and our local pet shop is very good so I'll see what options they have.

Quick update:
Vet pleased with progress, weight up a teeny bit, wound looking clean. Change of meds and another visit next week, plus keep an eye to make sure she doesn't clean the wound too aggressively.

If she does, she will have to have the bodysuit, which she hates but looks very cute

Capn has eaten 0 today. I have a feeling he’s after chorizo but it’s still stressy. He’s losing weight, which is to be expected, but I’m slowing it as much as poss. Will vet him tomorrow (by phone cos he hates going in).

Can you get invalid supplements for cats like those ones you used to get on the nhs for the elderly?

He had a gourmet and some double cream in the night. M&S do a pampered pet range, called The Deli.

Charlie has stubby paws and a thick coat. He is 5.5kg though! He's well over 10 and certainly in his senior years.

DH has decamped to the spare room. Leroy very pointedly removed himself from my lap and spread himself on DH's side of the bed, complete with a "Fuck off, I was here first" look.

We know the hierarchy in this house.

Capn had Dreamies in cream and we kipped all day on the sofa duvet. A single duvet, might I add, it’s so cold we didn’t move.

Puddy is also designed for a famine. It’s a good job because our heating is hardly on now. 15c this morning on the landing.

Oh lovely Puddy. I've been wondering why DCat1 has been lying on the bathroom floor, then I realised the underfloor heating was still on (unlike the rest of the house)

3rd day of refusing food for Capn.just about managed to get his meds in, which should help and haven’t. He is still purring and on me, thank God. Kidney failure and the rest of his ailments (bar the teeth) don’t hurt.
