Inspired by the ginger thread I thought I’d start a thread for those lucky enough to be owned by black cats.

I decided to adopt black cats after a rescue seater explained why they don’t let people adopt black cats right before Halloween Sad. It broke my heart that stupid superstitious and cruelty meant many black cats went without homes.

So let’s have em! Share photos of your lucky black cats Grin

My black boy has a coat like black satin so so shiny and soft. He too was a rescue and I deliberately wanted a black cat because they are the hardest to rehome.

I have a ginger Tom, a Tortie, a black panther and now a silver tabby what’s next to add to my collection? Grin

I hope those of you with Instagram &/or Twitter accounts [for your cats…] are getting photos ready for Black Cat Appreciation Day which, as PPs have mentioned, is on the 27th. (Also, yay for the fact that it’s worked so well as a campaign: this will be its tenth year - wouldn’t it be amazing if it got to the point there was no difference at all in adoption rates by fur colour though?)

I’m going - however dapper his bowtie may make him look - to need some better pictures of Jinnypurr than this morning’s effort. Though I’d much rather the snuggles than pretty pictures. Even if my 3-week sleep-diary thing ahead of being admitted to see if my epilepsy is doing stealthy-weird things while I sleep &/or my existing sleep disorder has got more complex will have to include that while yes I was AWAKE at the usual time, I couldn’t get up because there was a cat sleeping on me. Just have to hope that all concerned in evaluating are Cat People, won’t I?

Am so very much enjoying seeing all the wee so-much-loved house panthers. And Flowers to the humans who are missing a little shadowy stealth!kitty who used to own them.

Bibi was a rescue but we don't think she was ever abused, just neglected and/or got lost because she's very human-friendly. Cats Protection found her in an old rabbit hutch with two kittens, despite being only around 7 or 8 months herself. She was managing to feed them though she was extremely thin, but sadly they would have died anyway because she had panleucopenia and it passes through milk. Anyway she 100% tricked me into adopting her by pretending to be the sweetest, gentlest little kitty in the world who'd never be the slightest bit of bother to anyone (hence the highly inappropriate name of Habibi, which meets sweetie or darling). As soon as I got her home her personality did a 180 and she took over the house. Wouldn't have her any other way though, she keeps life interesting.

He seems quite tired today.
