Lucky black cat appreciation thread

Inspired by the ginger thread I thought I’d start a thread for those lucky enough to be owned by black cats.

I decided to adopt black cats after a rescue seater explained why they don’t let people adopt black cats right before Halloween . It broke my heart that stupid superstitious and cruelty meant many black cats went without homes.

They are all so beautiful. I have 2 black and white girls. Hadn't heard about the Halloween thing before.

@Fileexplorerrrr I think we all understand in the Litter Tray! Its soooo stressful when they're hurt because you can't explain it to them and they don't know why you're doing these things to them. My other cat dislocated her wrist (or front ankle, I guess) this year in such a way that needed a plate to fuse it, then she had to be on crate rest. It wasn't anything like life threatening but it was so upsetting, seeing her hurt, having to crate her, just horrible. Anyway she made a full recovery, you'd never know it happened now except one paw doesn't fold inwards the entire way where it's fused, but it doesn't hamper her in the slightest.

We always rescue a black cat for the same reasons as you. We've had several over the years & it always amazes me how different they can be.

This is our current black girl. She's turned out to be part Bengal & is now huge & barking mad. Our last black girl was tiny, so it was a shock that the tiny kitten that was dumped outside a rescue, grew to be bigger than our large Tomcat

I think black cats are incredible. So other worldly and magical. Why they are not as popular or overlooked really is beyond me
