Lucky black cat appreciation thread

Inspired by the ginger thread I thought I’d start a thread for those lucky enough to be owned by black cats.

I decided to adopt black cats after a rescue seater explained why they don’t let people adopt black cats right before Halloween . It broke my heart that stupid superstitious and cruelty meant many black cats went without homes.

Panther no. 1. This is Phoebe who is currently pacing the house waiting to be let out when it gets a bit lighter. She's fairly cross right now which is standard.

Panther no. 2 known as Toto is his favoured position when not following me round the house. Hes a great big softy.

Here is my black cat. She was a rescue cat and she's a great hunter!

My long haired boy Artemis, or arty farty as he’s better known. Regularly drags all sorts of debris or detritus into the house on his belly or tail fur

I specifically got a black cat after reading people don’t like buying or adopting black pets because they don’t photograph well!

We have two 5 month old tuxedos, Spats and Buttonboots. They're the blackest cats we've had yet - so far it's been tortoiseshell, calico and tabby. Their little black faces are so delightfully inscrutable, but it's impossible to take them at all seriously because they both have dainty little white chins and look very silly indeed They're so much sleeker than any of the others as well, so smooth and glossy that it would be a terribly offense to leave them ruffled at all after a cuddle. And they have the softest, most gorgeous white tummies which are available for strokes every time they sleep. They're adorable.

This is mine, another rescue that nobody wanted, they practically threw her at me after 4 months in the shelter and she's the most loving and caring cat

We now live in a road with about five black cats, they all wait outside each others houses and go around in a little black cat gang causing havoc 🖤

Lovely to see and hear about so many gorgeous black cats living their best lives this morning.

This is Salem, aged 18 ½. He was completely black as a youngster but now has the odd white hair and all white whiskers.
He has had a tough life, been run over by a car, a dry bite from an adder, inflammatory bowel problems and now only has 3 teeth. ..one canine and 2 tiny front ones.
But he can still jump up on the bed. Demands food every 3 to 4 hours. Including through the night. We thought he may have thyroid problems but all his blood work came back clear. He is just high maintenance lol!
Love black cats. And so sorry for the PP who lost theirs yesterday.

Our black dcat, Luna, has the odd white hair here and there and I have wondered if she will get more when she gets older.

You’ve all done incredibly well taking such great pics as that’s the only slight negative i can think of with my blackie, he’s a bugger to ohotograph properly without enough light/contrast.
