@darumafan

We got this stinky dirty boy back from his latest 2 year holiday at the scrap yard yesterday. His brothers are very confused about it all.
Two years!! Where was he getting his food from? Is he glad to be home?
cricketmum84 · 03/07/2021 10:53

Oh wow 2 years?! I bet you are so glad to have him home. Our Ellie disappeared 3 years ago and I still hope that we might get her back one day.

Ivy's blood tests were all clear and they have said we don't need to check anymore as they have been fine for 2 checks now 🥰🥰🥰

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2021 12:00

@darumafan How did you get him back?. You must’ve thought he wasn’t coming home.

That’s excellent @cricketmum84. Betsy probably was trying to get her out of the box. I’ll let you know about the glove, you never know if these things are a gimmick or not do you?.

I had Leroy in mind when I was looking for a cat. I figured a long hair would be harder to home and with covid home visits would be off the menu. I knew Cozie had encouraged you to look further afield so I gave it a whirl. The other prospective homes had children which she doesn’t like or were too close to roads and she looks up every time a car passes.

So far robot vacuums, cars, children are all scary. Drilling & hairdryers are acceptable. I just need to teach her that diving into my food head first is not acceptable behaviour.

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2021 12:18

I was horrified to be told that Ivy is half a kilo overweight! She always looks so small and skinny to me!! She was 4.1kg and for her size should be 3.6kg.

Can't wait to see what they say about Betsy in a few weeks when it's her turn.... I keep telling myself it's all fluff but there is definitely some poster going on 😳

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2021 12:18

*podge not poster ffs

darumafan · 03/07/2021 14:05

@Fluffycloudland77 we got a phone call from the vets, the very lovely lady from he scrap yard had taken him into them with an ear infection.
@JoanOgden, he was feeding himself in rabbits etc and I assume getting top ups from the staff at the yard.

Papergirl1968 · 03/07/2021 14:09

Oh wow darumafan. If only they could talk, what a tale he could tell.
Matt is being so loving today. I’m getting loads of kisses and headbutts. He must be thinking, thank you for making me feel much better, mommy! 😻

Supersimkin2 · 03/07/2021 15:23

1/2 a kilo's nothing @cricketmum84. A bit of ballast comes in handy if cats get ill, shame it doesn't work so well on humans.

swampytiggaa · 03/07/2021 18:17

I’m expecting Gomez to be overweight tbh. Reckon she’s as heavy as Wednesday and Morticia together 😩

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2021 18:21

Oh crikey. You’ll be getting the talk then. They used to run free weight loss clinics with the vet nurse at mine.

How much do moggies sleep? She’s asleep again. I think the effort of chewing tired her out.

coastergirl · 03/07/2021 18:42

Queen I did spot a little black bow tie collar in Pets at home the other day. Was tempted for Walter. NMC's is tartan and worn at a jaunty angle.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 03/07/2021 19:18

@Fluffycloudland77 - about 15 hours a day on average, I think.

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2021 19:21

how much do moggies sleep

Going by my two I would say an average of 23.5 hours per day. The lazy little sods 😂

Supersimkin2 · 03/07/2021 19:41

Good news, she’s relaxed. Or a Denmark fan.

swampytiggaa · 03/07/2021 20:31

😂😂😂

Mine are the same. They sneak under my bed tho and then wail to be let out about 3 hours after I’ve gone to sleep. I have to get up at 3am for work. I don’t like being woken up 🤬

NotMyCat · 03/07/2021 22:33

Ollie either sleeps 20hrs a day or just 1hr and spends the rest of the time wailing at me. There's no in between. Paws has 8hr naps Grin

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2021 22:43

Betsy was awake for 2 full hours this evening!! A fly had got in and she was desperate to catch it. She kept doing her really pathetic meow (she doesn't meow like a proper cat) and leaping in the air. Fly is still alive and she has given in and gone for a nap on the downstairs loo floor as it's the coolest place in the house.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/07/2021 07:09

Ok then. She does seem to sleep a lot. I need a cheap puzzle feeder for her to keep her occupied.

Supersimkin2 · 04/07/2021 09:13

Tired cos everything new and nice.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/07/2021 09:29

She’s bunny kicked a toy for the first time today, the blue fish wand toy AND had a nervous breakdown when I changed the spare room bed.

I need to vacuum & that’s not going to go down well.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 04/07/2021 12:48

Oh. I think Leroy's got dandruff 😱 Is it fixable? Or even much of a problem?

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/07/2021 13:17

It’s not a problem I just want her to live her best life, her mommy died, then they moved, she was scared of the other cat & lived in a separate part of the house.

I get a golf ball sized ball of fur out everyday just using a zoom groom.

Supersimkin2 · 04/07/2021 20:18

She's gifted you the ultimate compliment - grooming privileges.

No offence Fluffy, but what the hell's the point in getting married if you have to do the hoovering? DH can get busy with a carpet sweeper when PP is ready. When she's really ready.

I didn't hoover for a fortnight when Cap'n came. Sometimes priorities, yknow.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/07/2021 20:41

It was the only sensible thing to do. Vacuuming could of damaged him psychologically for life & you don’t want that on your conscious.

The grooming mitts are here but she’s dubious so it was a quick once over then I zoom groomed again. They got fur out though.

Dh has accepted we need flat cats window screens which is good because I think they’re arriving tomorrow with her zooplus order & Arden Grange light biscuits off amazon.

Papergirl1968 · 04/07/2021 20:47

I can’t link but the Daily Mail Femail section has an article on cat personality types - a survey has revealed cats are either nervous, outgoing, spontaneous, bossy or agreeable, with tips on how to parent each type.
Ive decided Matt is bossy and Socks nervous! Hmm
