I rescued this gorgeous beast today!

I took a bit of a gamble. Our old cat passed away in November and I have really felt her absence. We have 2 other much younger cats, but I really missed the dynamic of 3 cats.
I saw this boy, aged 8, who needed a home due to the owners poor health. He was in a local place that really don't vet owners so I wanted to make sure he had a good home.
Collected him at lunch time, and my god he is amazing, so naughty and vocal, but just the best! I've confined him to the living room, but he really is the least arsed cat I've ever met Grin. He has wanted aaaaaall the attention and strokes from the second he was in my car. The big beast actually broke the cat carrier and escaped whilst I'm doing 60mph on a dual carriage way. He then proceeded to shove himself under my feet as I'm driving. I don't even know how I made it home quite frankly.
He walked in like he owned the place. Ate all the cat treats, monopolised the cat toys, did a big stinky shit (I have never smelled anything quite so repugnant!) and then has meowed the rest of the day for attention, and demanding kisses.
He is just gorgeous. I love him! He is everything I wanted in a cat! My other 2 are females and are very aloof. Well, one is, the other is DP's floozy Wink. This one is my turn for a cat to love me!

Just got to do the introductions at some stage. Just hope it goes well!

Wonderful!!!

CornedBeef451 · 12/03/2021 23:34

He is lovely, congratulations!

I adopted two kittens in September and my older cats weren't keen but it went fairly well, took a few months but now they're all fine.

TheLongRider · 12/03/2021 23:36

Congratulations on your new cat! He does look and sound like Mr. Personality. He'll have you under the law in no time. He sounds like my two year-old cat Hobbes. He rocked out of the cat carrier as if he owned the place, and has continued to do so ever since.

ilovebagpuss · 12/03/2021 23:36

Love the 3rd picture! Just staking his claim, yep this is my pad. He’s lovely

TheLongRider · 12/03/2021 23:36

*paw not law!

Emmelina · 12/03/2021 23:41

Asterales · 12/03/2021 23:43

He looks like he's lived there forever! He's absolutely gorgeous, I do hope you enjoy the time you'll be spending under his furry little thumb from now on.

Porridgeoat · 12/03/2021 23:45

Handsome boy

VodkaSlimline · 12/03/2021 23:48

Yay! He sounds brilliant. Does he have a name or are you giving him a new one?

takingmytimeonmyride · 12/03/2021 23:55

He's gorgeous and it looks like he is the boss of your house now!

Poppins2016 · 12/03/2021 23:58

He is gorgeous! Very confident and independent looking (personality reminds me of one of my cats). Enjoy 🥰

yuyubooboo · 12/03/2021 23:59

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 13/03/2021 00:10

He is gorgeous!!!

I'd out good money on him destroying your sofa though - you can see he's eyeing up the very large scratching sofas!!

What's his name?

CatRamsey · 13/03/2021 00:20

Oh he's so handsome! He sounds wonderful. Congratulations OP!!

LaurieFairyCake · 13/03/2021 00:41

That ginger bastard OWNS you Grin

He's so gorgeous 🥰

Toddlerteaplease · 13/03/2021 06:31

Congratulations! He's gorgeous. That picture of him spread eagled, on your soon to be shredded sofa is brilliant!

ThisMustBeMyDream · 13/03/2021 10:33

Well, my other cats are Honey and Treacle. He is supposedly called Baba. Well, he doesn't respond to it! So I'm considering my options! Front runner is Fudge. Also Custard. Middle son suggested Jasper. Youngest son (aged 5!) suggested his own name, and when I pointed out how ridiculous this was, said he didn't mind getting a new name for himself. Confused
Any other suggestions gratefully welcomed!

If you call him Fudge, you'll be telling him to "fudge off!" when he does something awful!

TheLongRider · 13/03/2021 10:48

Goldie
Crunchie
Jaffa
Hobnob
Bourbon

ThisMustBeMyDream · 13/03/2021 10:53

Yep, I already thought of that and approve Grin

ThisMustBeMyDream · 13/03/2021 10:53

Oooh, might add Hobnob to the list of potentials! Thanks!
