I rescued this gorgeous beast today!

I took a bit of a gamble. Our old cat passed away in November and I have really felt her absence. We have 2 other much younger cats, but I really missed the dynamic of 3 cats.
I saw this boy, aged 8, who needed a home due to the owners poor health. He was in a local place that really don't vet owners so I wanted to make sure he had a good home.
Collected him at lunch time, and my god he is amazing, so naughty and vocal, but just the best! I've confined him to the living room, but he really is the least arsed cat I've ever met Grin. He has wanted aaaaaall the attention and strokes from the second he was in my car. The big beast actually broke the cat carrier and escaped whilst I'm doing 60mph on a dual carriage way. He then proceeded to shove himself under my feet as I'm driving. I don't even know how I made it home quite frankly.
He walked in like he owned the place. Ate all the cat treats, monopolised the cat toys, did a big stinky shit (I have never smelled anything quite so repugnant!) and then has meowed the rest of the day for attention, and demanding kisses.
He is just gorgeous. I love him! He is everything I wanted in a cat! My other 2 are females and are very aloof. Well, one is, the other is DP's floozy Wink. This one is my turn for a cat to love me!

Just got to do the introductions at some stage. Just hope it goes well!

He's lovely! I've just been to our local rescue webpage and they also have a Baba up for adoption. I think our current resident and overlord would have his nose put seriously out of joint by any new arrival though.

Loving the name suggestions.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/03/2021 11:41

I love the ginger patch on his mouth.

What a star.

I like your little one's idea for a name.

captainprincess · 13/03/2021 11:44

He's beautiful and looks like a Pumpkin Smile
Well done for rehoming an older cat, such an admirable thing to do.

CatRamsey · 13/03/2021 11:44

I like Custard and Hobnob! I'll try and think of some ideas Grin.

Oldraver · 13/03/2021 12:07

He's beautiful. My boss is an owner of four cats and when he saw a picture of our ginger in the Christmas tree he said gingers are always trouble

I'm not saying I agree oh no

Toddlerteaplease · 13/03/2021 13:26

My Cheddar thinks he looks like a Cheddar as well.

TheLongRider · 13/03/2021 13:28

More name suggestions:

Chai
Cinnamon
Noodles
Mustard (Colonel of course!)
Coco
Cocoa

Other ginger cats that I have known:

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/03/2021 13:30

McVitie (GingerNut)
Tango
Tiptree
Robinson (both purveyers of fine marmalade )

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/03/2021 13:30

My Cheddar thinks he looks like a Cheddar as well

I think he is more of a Leicester!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/03/2021 13:36

Ken (Red Ken as in Livingstone )
Nigel . Just because !

Stickytreacle · 13/03/2021 13:40

Or Eric, as in Eric the Red.

Sexnotgender · 13/03/2021 13:41

He’s lovely!!

ChaToilLeam · 13/03/2021 13:42

What a handsome cat boy! I like the name Jasper.

ohsheglows · 13/03/2021 13:42

He's lovely! Looks right at home! Also, how on earth do your sofas look so good 😂 I only have the one and my sofas are completely scratched to pieces by him!

TwoBreakingIntoOne · 13/03/2021 13:45

He is gorgeous. I love him laid out on the sofa arm
What do the other cats think about him?

coastergirl · 13/03/2021 14:01

He's gorgeous, and definitely not a Baba.

lynsey91 · 13/03/2021 14:11

He is so gorgeous. He looks a lot like a cat I used to have called Nick (we didn't name him!).

I so miss having cats but we live on a fairly busy road so can't risk having one.

dorothy3 · 13/03/2021 14:15

He's beautiful - may we see more photos please?

JustNotCoping123 · 13/03/2021 14:51

I think he's too orange to be a Fudge, I'd picture it as a paler colour

Hobnob would work equally well for telling him off- you can tell Hobnob to stop being a knob Grin

Others I like;
Pumpkin
Waffle
Toffee
Crunchie
Jaffa (Cake)
Carrot
Butterscotch
Maple
Banoffee
Crumble
Brandy snap

He looks lovely, and definitely made himself at home!

RhapsodyandAshe · 13/03/2021 14:56

Snaps or GingerSnaps if he is in a more formal mood. Also according to TS Eliot every cat should have three names, the every day one, the more formal one and the one only known to the cat themselves.

Yiayoula · 13/03/2021 14:59

Just spotted this - what a handsome boy !
He’d be Jaffa, or Pumpkin for me , but clearly Master of the House now.....
Bless you for giving him your home. 💐

Toilenstripes · 13/03/2021 15:02

Stache

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/03/2021 15:11

Ha! Ours have Their Names and Their Sunday Names

I'm wagering the third one is the only name they'd bloody answer to Grin because the Cat Slave will never know it ..

Grinch48 · 13/03/2021 15:15

Hobson will be reduced do you knob 😂

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 13/03/2021 15:24

Congratulations! Gorgeous boy!
