I rescued this gorgeous beast today!

I took a bit of a gamble. Our old cat passed away in November and I have really felt her absence. We have 2 other much younger cats, but I really missed the dynamic of 3 cats.
I saw this boy, aged 8, who needed a home due to the owners poor health. He was in a local place that really don't vet owners so I wanted to make sure he had a good home.
Collected him at lunch time, and my god he is amazing, so naughty and vocal, but just the best! I've confined him to the living room, but he really is the least arsed cat I've ever met Grin. He has wanted aaaaaall the attention and strokes from the second he was in my car. The big beast actually broke the cat carrier and escaped whilst I'm doing 60mph on a dual carriage way. He then proceeded to shove himself under my feet as I'm driving. I don't even know how I made it home quite frankly.
He walked in like he owned the place. Ate all the cat treats, monopolised the cat toys, did a big stinky shit (I have never smelled anything quite so repugnant!) and then has meowed the rest of the day for attention, and demanding kisses.
He is just gorgeous. I love him! He is everything I wanted in a cat! My other 2 are females and are very aloof. Well, one is, the other is DP's floozy Wink. This one is my turn for a cat to love me!

Just got to do the introductions at some stage. Just hope it goes well!

He's gorgeous. Red tabbies really are the best!

TheLongRider · 21/03/2021 18:13

He's a big boy isn't he! Ginger's tend to be lovely cats. I really like that photo of him on the shelf. Is he known as Toff for everyday and Toffee! when he's acting up?

MiddleClassMother · 21/03/2021 18:14

Beautiful!

Both gorgeous too. Does the beautiful torbie and white often curl up in the frying pan?!

ThisMustBeMyDream · 21/03/2021 21:39

Anywhere she can get in - she's in! Washing machine, boxes, woks, drawers, plant pots... she loves them all!

Handsome beast, got you well under the paw already, marmalade he’s to be!🤣

beachygirl · 21/03/2021 23:29

He's adorable! I'd had females before, but my rescued ginger farm cat is just the sweetest boy, so gentle and loving.

Loving the pics of the other scrumptious cats! I'd have a houseful of cats if it wasn't for the cost and the mess Grin.
I braved the scales with the beast tonight. He is a whisker off 6kg. My girl cats are 3.5kg! No wonder they were afraid! Blush

He is absolutely gorgeous. So handsome!! He has settled in so quickly.

I am also the proud owner of a couple of gingers. I would like to say gingers are the best but as I also have a teeny weeny little short haired black and white girl Im saying nothing!

Can’t stop laughing at your cat in the frying pan...
Congratulations on the gorgeous Toffee - so glad he’s settled in so well. I’m looking for reassurance that introducing a new cat can work. One of our pair of brothers disappeared a year ago and I’m still a bit heartbroken but also really missing having two. But DH is worried that the existing cat would bugger off if we brought in a stranger...

Ellmau · 22/03/2021 17:51

The perfect name!

'If it fits, I sits...'

We had one like that. Her favourite place to sleep was curled up in the fruit bowl on my parents' dining table. She also liked to climb into suitcases, holdalls and, of course, boxes.

Deathraystare · 24/03/2021 19:03

Remember, that stinky shit was his gift to you!!!

Hoppinggreen · 24/03/2021 19:06

He is lovely and you are now his Be-atch

HappyHoppyHippo · 25/03/2021 12:01

Gorgeous cats!

AltiC · 27/03/2021 10:16

If you already have Honey and Treacle then this must be Golden Syrup! He's gorgeous 😍

ThisMustBeMyDream · 28/03/2021 13:55

2 weeks in and all is going swimmingly! He is just a gorgeous chunky beast! He is so loving and friendly. Treacle, whom was the vocally mad one on his arrival, has settled down and allowed him to lick her butt Grin. They now sleep on my bed, pretty close to one another.
Honey, who was reasonably ambivalent and mostly ignored him or low level hissed if he got within touching reach, has remained pretty similar. She is the same with the other cat, who was a kitten when we got her. I think it is just her personality. She isn't keen on much other than her own company. Doesn't like being stroked for the most. Occasionally she will purr when my son strokes her, but generally she just looks like she tolerates it for the human who wishes to stroke her.

So I guess this means the cats can all live along side one another. Hooray!

I suspect that Toffee may have always been an indoor cat. He has made no attempt to leg it at open doors. He has been curious, and did take a small walk around the garden with the other half. But only once, and hasn't tried to go out since. Looks like we got ourselves a house cat. Which is kind of good, as I don't think he would fit through the cat flap Blush.
