I've blocked her on everything. If she's stupid enough to turn up on my doorstep then more fool her. I never want to have to go through this again. I'd stupidly managed to convince myself that she was going to be perfectly fine after her teeth came out.
Sorry, I feel like I'm having a total meltdown on here but it's the only place I feel I can. I just don't know what to do with myself

Defiantly41 · 31/12/2020 18:12

@Justonedayatatime11 can you block the breeder or hand over contact with them to someone else who is feeling up to dealing with them robustly?

When you feel up to dealing with them, sadly, (and to be honest I'm not even sure if the contract is enforceable), the remedy for non-performance of a contract is money. I'm sure we'd all contribute to crowdfunding for them to go away. Alternatively, can your vet spay her (your other chocolate) for her own health/benefit, or "forbid" you from breeding from her? I don't know much about pedigrees, Is there a breed standard or body that can help?

Thinking of you, and please ignore if any of the above is unhelpful or inappropriate

Talk as much as you want on here. We're listening and here for you in spirit.

coastergirl · 31/12/2020 18:44

There is nothing like this thread for understanding the heartbreak that you're going through @Justonedayatatime11. You were all so incredibly kind to me with Bertie. Please continue to talk to us. I'm thinking of you.

Papergirl1968 · 31/12/2020 19:26

Well done on blocking her, Just, and don’t worry about letting it all out on here. That’s what we are here for, for the bad times as well as the good.

Supersimkin2 · 31/12/2020 23:06

Happy New Year everyone. Let’s totter on to 2021, bound to be a better place for us all. Capn waves goodbye to 2020 and gives everyone the blinky love eyes.

Happy New Year from Plague Central.

DH pretty much better now (he could taste his dinner today), but I've come down with a cold. It is now my turn to whinge.

Leroy mid-air treadles and offers belly rubs to wish everyone a better 2021. 🥳

Papergirl1968 · 01/01/2021 00:15

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/01/2021 10:55

And a very happy new year to you all.
Sybil has already broken her new year's resolution to stop going on kitchen surfaces.

Happy new year from me and Defiantgirls. Here's hoping it's a better year for all

coastergirl · 01/01/2021 15:23

Happy new year to you all, from me, Walter and the feral human children.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Sybil is so beautiful! Walter needs to make that same resolution.

@Justonedayatatime11 I'm thinking of you lovely. ❤️

Justonedayatatime11 · 01/01/2021 17:21

Thanks @coastergirl. Still here but not coping Sad

Papergirl1968 · 01/01/2021 17:40

Thinking of you too, Just. Concentrate on getting through each hour, each day.
You’re hurting but Darcy is at peace now, no more pain.

Justonedayatatime11 · 01/01/2021 19:58

I can't deal with the guilt. There must have been more I could have done.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/01/2021 20:02

I doubt it, she had a lot wrong with her. It’s too much for one animal to cope with.

Papergirl1968 · 01/01/2021 20:11

Just, you fought so hard for her but her health problems were just too complex.
You gave her every chance.

coastergirl · 01/01/2021 20:16

@Justonedayatatime11 I absolutely know how you are feeling. I'm pretty sure a few weeks ago I was posting the exact same things, and you all got me through it. It still hurts so much and I still feel so guilty, but it's not as painful now. You couldn't have done any more for Darcy. She died knowing only love from you. You did your very best. But I do know the feeling, it's awful.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 01/01/2021 21:01

Just ((( hug )))

You let her go when the time was right. That is the most selfless action you could have taken and you did it. You broke your own heart to make it right for Darcy. You have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about. Nothing at all.

But my god, it hurts. 💐

coastergirl · 01/01/2021 21:57

Exactly what @YesItsMeIDontCare said.

Supersimkin2 · 01/01/2021 22:31

@Justonedayatatime11, Yes is exactly right. Part of the pain is you doing the right thing.

Too early to say it, but the life she did have from you was a fine one. That's what matters. And what matters to her.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 02/01/2021 13:52

Oh poo. I've got Covid.
