I know I've said that the Cap'n looks like a dissolute ex-officer but I'm beginning to think that he looks like the cat version of Uncle Monty from Withnail and I.

From a contemporary review of this classic film:

"The cat is only seen fleetingly in the scene at Monty’s house, first being chased into the living room by Monty who is screaming at the cat, referring to him as 'an ungrateful little swine.'

"Later the cat jumps up on the back of the couch while Monty is talking to Marwood. Monty has a fit, chasing the cat away and screaming about how “It’s trying to get itself in with you!” and calling it a rugby ball and saying, “It will die! It will die!”.

I love that scene more than I love my home and family.

Little grey pussycat has been sighted by DD, who lives not far away. He snuck in and started to eat her DCat's food.

The LGP is a(n) NMC. Does he have a known home?

Don't know yet. I shall have to patrol the nearest streets and hope to learn more - perhaps he sits in the window at his place of residence.

Ok paws has me speechless. Went to bed, checked on him about 3am because I woke up and he gave me a face of "you daft? Sleeping"
Woke up about 7am to a noise I didn't recognise and found paws tapping my bedroom door I opened it, he went to the window looking at me the whole time then tapped on the window to say he wanted out

Clever boy! Some cats are.very good at learning to communicate their needs

He was! It was "I would like to go out now please, also Ollie been sick, you might wanna clean that up"

Family and their little quirks, eh.

London never really gets cold. Yesterday I flew out for a walk on the Common, smock dress billowing, white trainers as normal, bare ankles fake tanned (note standards kept up during lockdown). Admired the greying snowman on the back-to-green grey grass, licked lips at thought of bacon sandwich as reward, strode onward.

Made it about three yards before being sliced in two by wind, nipped back for two rounds of butties, passed out with Capn on sofa. He is sleeping with me now at nights too :)

Paws is so clever, Queen. I’m glad he stayed on such a cold night.
And Lana, I love how settled Capn is now. It’s like he’s been with you forever.

Sometimes a snooze with Momma is what's needed.
