What does your dcat eat that you wouldn't expect

Ours likes crumpets, when he was a kitten I discovered one I had left out to defrost had been nibbled all round the edge. Eating one this morning he jumped up beside on the couch(v. unusual) to beg a bit.

Mind you one of my colleagues cats likes curry and will lick any unattended plates left after a meal!

Soya milk and cereal! Will even run from a different room to climb onto my lap and eat it off my spoon. I have to wait til he’s in the garden if I want to eat any!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 06/12/2020 19:59

Raspberries and broccoli...she doesn't like meat either, she's a weirdo Grin

SparkyTheCat · 06/12/2020 19:59

Curry, citrus, vegetables...

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 06/12/2020 20:00

She loves digestive biscuits and crisps.

Howcanwehelp · 06/12/2020 20:01

One likes popcorn, but only if we've said no. If we offer her a piece she turns her nose up at it. My other cat tried eating a bit of my cake earlier!

myneighboursarerude · 06/12/2020 20:06

Beans - if you put down a bowl of tuna or a bowl of Heinz she will ignore the tuna and go straight for the beans!

ilovepuggies · 06/12/2020 20:07

Sweet corn 🌽

Pinkerbells · 06/12/2020 20:08

Tinsel, pizza, prawn crackers and he has a bad habit of licking spray snow off the window. Oh and frozen mice for the snake Blush

Meepmeeep · 06/12/2020 20:08

Chips, loves a chip. Very rarely gets them though.

justgeton · 06/12/2020 20:09

Cheese and onion crisps

Dawninglory · 06/12/2020 20:10

Kefir natural yogurt, hears me take off the lid she's straight up on the kitchen top!

RunnerDown · 06/12/2020 20:10

Loves crisps. Also croissant - but that may be because it’s slathered in butter

Antirrhinum · 06/12/2020 20:11

One of my long-gone beloved cats adored marzipan. The other had a passion for cheese and onion crisps.

myneighboursarerude · 06/12/2020 20:12

Also anything dairy!

Milk, cheese, yoghurt - anything!

HolyBuckets · 06/12/2020 20:13

Mine loves prawn crackers. He tries to steal them every time we have Chinese.

Popcornismandatory · 06/12/2020 20:13

Yorkshire pudding and scraps of bread dropped by birds in the garden. If I ever offered him a piece of bread indoors he'd walk away in a huff!

PaquitaVariation · 06/12/2020 20:14

Pizza. They’ll rip open pizza boxes to get at any leftovers.

IsFinnRogersDead · 06/12/2020 20:14

Lasagne Grin

Roast chicken- but only if warm and thrown in bits onto the clean kitchen floor. Warm and chopped up on his plate? No. Thrown on the patio? No. The wrong size bits? No. Placed not thrown? Nope.

Cheese - cubed or grated. Never sliced.

Chocolate milk. Any milk in a cereal bowl left on top of the dishwasher. Actual cat milk placed in his actual bowl? Nope.

My friends cat eats peas. Now that's odd.

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 06/12/2020 20:14

Cheese. Loves a bit of grated cheddar, the stronger the better.

Like a pp, also Heinz beans. Although tends to leave the beans, and laps up the sauce

coastergirl · 06/12/2020 20:24

Current cat: will only eat cat food and tuna.

Very recently departed cat😢: milk from cereal bowls, cheese, sausages. When I first got him he had been a feral kitten and wouldn't come near me...except when I was eating anything and he'd come down from over my shoulder and try to pinch my food.

Cat I lost to a road accident a couple of years ago: dry porridge oats and plain tortilla wraps. Packets of both had to be well hidden away or she would drag them onto the floor, tear them open and devour the contents. I came downstairs at 9 months pregnant to find she had spread oats through the whole ground floor of the house. Nutter.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/12/2020 20:28

Grapes.

Also hot roast chicken bits of specific size chucked on the floor (him), or held out in a hand (her). No other delivery method or sizes accepted.

Birdladybird · 06/12/2020 20:29

My kitty loves crisps. She's mad for them!

Chewbecca · 06/12/2020 20:32

Fig roll biscuits

puzzledquiz · 06/12/2020 20:33

Chicken sounds familiar, ours will only it off the floor or out of our fingers, never in his bowlHmm

Mine will eat anything but her own food, she begs like a dog when I'm eating and will eat anything off my plate but put it in her bowl and she's not interested.
