This is Havelock doing his famous “vampire dandelion clock” impersonation

That is great!

@OohKittens thank you for all the tips! Yes registered pedigree clear of all conditions. And being indoors only and non-hunting was really important as we all love wildlife and I am very squeamish so couldn't cope with 'presents'. Hoping to lead-train when older and that she might enjoy coming for walks like your boy! Good to hear about the grazing as that's what we've been advised to do - do your raggies have wet food as well as dry? Interesting about the cat grass - will source some, and also about the spaying cut. I haven't researched properly yet as it's a few months away but remember reading somewhere that it should be a mid-tummy cut for ragdolls, perhaps because of the colour-change you mentioned? Clearly I should research further! Are there health advantages of the side cut?

Good evening from Micky

@GenuineKlatchianPottery that's hilarious! Havelock definitely knows how to strike a pose Grin

Loving your and his PTerry names by the way!

OohKittens · 28/07/2020 20:06

@RunRaggedAlready Yes lots of people who show opt for that down the mid section but this is far more difficult to recover from. So if you don't mind the temporary change of colour (will be blue) then go for a regular spay. My girls colour was back six months later. The only reason in ragdolls they opt for the mid section is purely cosmetic.

So glad you have a pedigree, it breaks my heart people breeding non health tested ragdolls. They don't seem to realise how at risk from dying their non pedigree cat is. It may look like a ragdoll but that's as far as the similarities go. A registered breeder does so to better the breed for the future.

We are vegan so also don't like the thought of the wildlife either. We had a moggy years back and she brought in through the window a live adder and dropped it right in front of my youngest who was a baby sat in a bouncy seat!

Mine are fed royal canin biscuits as and when. My two are very vocal and also very needy they want constant attention. Completely different to my Norwegian forest kitten who doesn't cry but makes a chorus of trilling and chirping noises Grin.

The vet may try to tell you that your cat is too big but they don't always know that ragdolls are larger than a moggy. They are also slow to mature taking around 3 years to reach adult size.

OohKittens · 28/07/2020 20:14

We had a rushed visit to the vets with Dexter (mismarked seal raggie) he wouldn't put any weight on one of his front paws. Was wandering around on three legs. The vet phoned me when he was inside as if I was making it up (yeah because I love to visit the vets for a laugh). She thoroughly checked his leg and he was walking absolutely fine. I'm relieved he is ok but no idea what it was about!

Yes, yes you have. You'd better be ready to replace that hot water bottle when his Lordship requests it.

Have I ever posted this totally one-off picture of three of mine on here?

All of you understand how impossible it is to get cats to pose for a photo - so how lucky was I to get presented with this opportunity!! They just seemed to line up ready for a photo.

The two 'kittens' are being black blobs in the garden.

TrickyD · 02/08/2020 21:25

Paddling pool filled this weekend awaiting little grandson.
DH covered it with a large groundsheet to keep leaves out.
Dcat spent a lot of time exploring all the sheet’s overlapping extra nooks and crannies and deciding on cosy spots with a view.
DH removed cover this morning and found Dcat had caught, throttled and hidden a bird.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 03/08/2020 00:14

Havelock is most indignant today. He had a bath this morning and was very loud in his disapproval of it.

Oldraver - is Colin your new overlord?

Oldraver · 03/08/2020 12:20

Yes we just fetched him today. I'd forgotten how tiny and fragile they look

He had a good sniff round couple of rooms and doesn't seem phased. Had a play with some toys then went to sleep.... in BC a cardboard scratching thing. Obviously ignored the comfy beds

We did go off into another room and he same looking for us, and he purrs so loudly

May darling Colin grow up to be big and strong and to dominate the Oldraver household in a similar but different way to the darling departed Ernie. You've got some big shoes to fill, little fluffy ginger one, but I am sure that you are up to it!

Defiantly41 · 03/08/2020 13:13

Yay Colin! So* pleased for you Oldraver. He's beautiful (and Spartacus* said it much more eloquently, about time we had a +1 or thumbs up vote around here)
