Onwards and upwards for the denizens of the Litter Tray. Best of luck to all job-hunting, cat-mourning, Paws-swiping posters. I can't do a proper link to the old thread.

New boy cat arrives on Friday, a one-year old tabby boy currently under the moniker of "Bobby". I don't have a proper picture yet.

@YesItsMeIDontCare it's advertised on FB as a marshmallow one Confused but I got it off eBay for about £12! Very soft and cosy

Ollie looks FURIOUS!!!!!

Matt is a big boy, isn't he?

ClientQueen · 12/02/2020 10:28

Ollie got back in it today so he can't hate it too much Grin

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2020 12:45

Lana! Grin
Yes, Spartacus, he is huge Blush

EachandEveryone · 12/02/2020 13:18

Allergic after my hysterectomy I used my regular cat sitter, she was £8 a visit but was brilliant she came for three days in a row post discharge and she came when I was in hospital. Then once a week, then every two weeks just to do all the trays. Also, i have a cleaner once a fortnight who really helped. Im not loaded btw just hate housework 😄

Supersimkin2 · 12/02/2020 16:39

Or the other thing you could do is scoop the litter out in bits with a jug. Probably not the best milk jug. :) and get turkey roasting trays from poundland to use as tray itself ie you just bin the lot.

Magnificent Matt has room for growth. Neutered male cats go up to 22lb healthy weight and he's nowhere near that.

7 kilos is max easy lifting weight. Cats know this.

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2020 17:24

I think I've worked out the logistics - I will still be able to use my hand on that side though not for lifting and with very restricted movement, so can hold a bin bag open with that one while I do the tipping with the uninjured one. I've booked them in for their MoT a bit early this year, so we get that done & out of the way before the carnage begins on my poor body (lump on ribs will be first).

Only 7 kilos Lana? Boycat is 6kg, and I can cope lifting him with only 1.5 arms Grin. OK so my breathing gets a bit strained after he's been lying limp dead weight on my chest for a few minutes.....

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2020 17:28

22lbs! Shock
He is big boned, to be fair (an excuse I’ve been using all my life...)

Supersimkin2 · 12/02/2020 20:04

Thank God Mr C was a bloater - it kept him alive a good extra year when old age kicked in. Being frankly fat - say 30 per cent not double your normal body weight -- is very, very good for you when you get on a bit.

The diet culture we live in can be deeply misleading about our health. Even in our prime, unless you're 35 stone BMI doesn't make much of a difference.

Bought the furry overlords a new blanket for their settee. Think they approve 💕

Someone appears to be growing.... hardly surprising the amount of food he puts away

Sphinx comes to life in family home :)

He's a healthy eater.

Justonedayatatime11 · 12/02/2020 21:27

Multiple sachets of Sheba, and as much raw food as he can get his paws on, particularly steak Hmm. Not too fussed by dry food or treats. Quite partial to a chew on my arm!

Papergirl1968 · 13/02/2020 00:12

He is beautiful, Just!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 13/02/2020 06:50

Is he deliberately copying your ornaments in front of your fire Just? 'Cause it's very impressive 😁.

Allergictoironing · 13/02/2020 07:55

He's looking more and more like a Cheetah! I think it's those looong legs of his (and the markings of course)

Supersimkin2 · 13/02/2020 08:59

Sneaked back in for another admiring look at him. He is quite exquisite Just and looks so glossy now - you're doing an amazing job.

Justonedayatatime11 · 13/02/2020 09:31

YesItsMe he does like to sit there and look at us.... when he's not trying to chew the heads off Portia and Penelope! He's far far less of a handful than I was expecting. Although he does like to run

Showed photo to Ollie and said "now that's a cat"
Ollie - sneezed on my phone and went back to sleep Hmm

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/02/2020 11:15

Ollie knows that real cats gaze adoringly, overgroom and have their own bush.

ClientQueen · 13/02/2020 14:45

Da BUSH is out of favour now. They've covered their wooden bench with a plastic cover which is now his new fave spot. Luckily they like cats

Justonedayatatime11 · 13/02/2020 16:41

Jinxed myself by saying he's not a handful. 10kg of cat launched himself onto my back from the floor and has shredded it Sad. He needs his claws cut methinks. That was incredibly painful Sad

Supersimkin2 · 13/02/2020 18:36

Bugger that, Just, must have hurt like hell.

I was on the phone to Jilly Cooper once and she let out the most appalling shriek - her massive cat had done the same.
