Adopting a retired Bengal stud??

LittleGinBigGin · 09/08/2019 17:04

So tomorrow I’m off to see a retired Bengal stud who’s looking for his forever home?

I’m already in love with him, what questions do I need to ask??

Any help would be much appreciated I’ve always had cats from tiny kitten ages!

Many thanks

Op, they’re little furry money pits!.

Ours ruined the stair carpets, we're putting laminate down now. £600 🤦🏻‍♀️

LazyFace · 17/08/2019 19:03

He's stunning! I hope it'll work out for you all.

If you really want to blow the kitty budget look at cat wheels. Bengals tend to love them. I got mine a Cazami one and he runs miles on it every day which helps him destress which reduces the weeing

Onekidnoclue · 17/08/2019 21:40

He’s gorgeous. We have a Bengal. She’s beautiful but very uncatlike. They think they are people! Bossy, affectionate and brilliant with kids.

How is he today?

LittleGinBigGin · 18/08/2019 10:30

Currently hiding under the bed!!

We had a bad night last night some twat at the back of us started setting off fire works at 10pm and it’s really spooked him.

But he hasn’t had another wee on the bed yet!!

Good boy! - er - did I miss the name or will be Asbo II?

LittleGinBigGin · 18/08/2019 11:21

He doesn’t really respond to his name which he came with so we have decided to change it to Zeus.

Currently being called asbo 2 at the moment Grin

I always change our animals names . I've had guinea-pigs and cats and even if I knew the name ( some didn't have one) we give a New Name for their New Life .

They get the name (eventually) they'll tell by your tone of voice that you're talking to them.

A calling of his name and a rattle of the catbiscuit tin brings our male in at night (can you guess which of these he responds to ? Grin )

Zeus is a really good name for a Bengal .

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/08/2019 12:42

Asbo will be thrilled he has a namesake. He never bred and worried his naughty streak would die out.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/08/2019 13:02

I was thinking more of 'Asbo the second' (more regal) - but Asbo 2 will do.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/08/2019 14:21

How’s he doing? Has he got a favourite human yet?.

LittleGinBigGin · 19/08/2019 17:38

Asbo the second as he will now be known as, has had yet another wee on the bed despite all my efforts to clean it - I’m going to order new bedding duvet, pillows, quilt cover etc. I have someone coming to properly clean the mattress as obviously I didn’t do it well enough. Annoyingly he still uses his litter tray as well 🤷‍♀️

Other than that he’s an absolute angel, he’s equally lovely to both me and dh but loves whoever feeds him the most.

He’s very inquisitive about outside the bedroom and seems keen to explore however I am holding off as I don’t want him weeing on the bed we are currently sleeping on.

He also has the most amazing voice. Talks a lot as soon as he comfortable with people.

Probably best to keep him out of that room for the time being.

Have you got the new litter & cystease yet?. Asbo 1 has two capsules a day and I mix water in with it.

LittleGinBigGin · 19/08/2019 18:47

Yes new litter arrived this afternoon and has been changed!

Cystease should be here tomorrow! I’m hoping that it helps.

Marblecakes my 10yr old bengal has been a great and interesting companion to the family but if the litter tray isn't 100 per cent clean he can mark and as for wallpaper, say goodbye to that!

Saying all that I'd have another one in an instant!

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/08/2019 19:30

Your boys eyes are gorgeous 😻

BlueEyedBengal · 19/08/2019 19:40

Thank you he's a blue eyed snow marble and we had him as a 5 month old ex show kitten he was very aloof as not used to an household but over time he became a wonderful addition to our lives. Not for the faint hearted inexperienced but having owned many many cats over the years 2 of which were feral kittens I was almost ready for him. I'd describe bengals as a cat that thinks it's a dog and need full attention as can easily get into mischief if bored!

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/08/2019 07:06

How is he getting on?.

C0untDucku1a · 21/08/2019 07:38

My friend has bengals. I take my dog down to get used to them in order to get him to behave better towards my
Moggies as the bengals don't take any crap lol

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/08/2019 08:48

Does he get bopped?.

Supersimpkin · 21/08/2019 08:56

Look at the little lad! He really is quite lovely. Massive congratulations.

He's a stunner!
