Oh that's good that Betboo can rest Smile

Supersimpkin · 10/08/2019 10:35

Sodding cat's got fleas. Again. I saw one while having a lovely bed-in-breakfast groom.

Who was it mentioned doing the Frontline?

Henry update (copied and pasted as was sent to me)
he had the dental yesterday 6 extractions 2 couldn't be removed as was fused to his gum. That cat has been in terrible pain for a long time. He was kept in the vets again last night.

Supersimpkin · 10/08/2019 12:09

Oh Darling Henry, that's just awful. You rescued him!!!! He will be feeling completely transformed shortly, won't he. Me heaving sigh of relief, but not as big as Henry's sigh tho'.

How on Earth has Mr C got fleas? Don't you live a couple of stories up and isn't he an indoor kitty?

Henry Flowers

Supersimpkin · 10/08/2019 18:19

Yes and yes. And I deflea'd him last month after suspicions raised by dandruff.

I suspect the vet queue for blood tests.

M&S Best Ever burger for supper. One each. Yumbo.

New brush day here. Anyone knit with cat fur?

What brush was that Queen? Good news about Henry. Are the fused teeth likely to cause him a lot of problems?

YesQueen · 10/08/2019 19:06

Hopefully not, he seems to be eating a lot better already! It's called pet zoom self cleaning brush from eBay. Ollie is very happy with it Grin

Supersimpkin · 10/08/2019 19:36

Oh yes, we've got two. A smaller one for the head, a vast one for the belly. Try ears 'n' chin, we'll hear the purr from here.

Lana are you sure the fleas aren't from donations to the charity shop? I knew someone who worked in one for a while & took fleas home from there (yuk).

Supersimpkin · 10/08/2019 20:16

Absolutely positive, thanks Allergic. When I get in I dive straight into the bath with all clothes already washing on 60. I've heard those stories too.

Matt and I are on our holidays. Two weeks in wet and windy Wales!
Less than an hour into the journey he did an enormous and very smelly poo in the litter tray. DD was nearly gagging so we had to stop in a lay by and scoop it into an empty bread bag I’d luckily thought to bring at the last moment.
He didn’t seem too happy on the journey - he was drooling a lot even though we kept the car very cool - but was happy enough once we arrived.
We stopped at McDonald’s on the way and the assistant’s face was a picture as we came through the drive thru!

Weezol · 10/08/2019 21:58

Yes I know a crafter that needle felts with cat fur.

Supersimpkin · 10/08/2019 22:25

Matt will LOVE Wales - all those sheep to chase. Lamb chops for supper.

Drooling may have been carsickness - a lot of cats suffer. Bread bag a moment of genius.

I'm saving Mr C's fur. Cloning only costs £16k, you never know. It would be nice to have him from a kitten to give him the life he deserves, no homeless years. I've got a whisker as well.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2019 19:13

Have you got 16k though?.

I moved the cats bed, it’s a footstool really but it’s been claimed, into our room & he’s so pissed off about it he kicked a ventolin inhaler, attacked the corner of the bed and flounced off to sleep in a corner squished between a mirror and a box.

Dh says I’ve ruined the cats life. Then he moved it back.

YesQueen · 11/08/2019 21:20

Gone for a nap with the brush Confused

TheSilveryPussycat · 12/08/2019 10:25

Re fleas. I used to comb DCat with a nit comb, and catch any combed out fleas with a bit of blue tack. We both enjoed the process. She spent a lot of time in the local allotment, so would pick up fleas there, so this was a recurring event.

Supersimpkin · 12/08/2019 10:29

Superb tip, thanks. Off to WH Smith.

We've done more grooming this am - then I finish off with wipes, Mr C purrs like a drill at full throttle throughout. He may be old, but he is still well proud of his fur.

Fluffy well done DH on not calling the RSPCA and a divorce lawyer.

May be a bit quiet. My darling, beautiful horse died in the field this morning. I've just come back from saying goodbye to her and my heart hurts so so much SadSad

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/08/2019 12:24

Oh Queen! What on Earth happened??? I am so, so sorry Flowers.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 12/08/2019 12:25

Oh YesQueen I am so so sorry 😢. Sending you lots of love and hugs.

YesQueen · 12/08/2019 12:36

We think she had a heart attack. She was just lay down, on the hillside overlooking the moors

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2019 12:37

Oh you poor thing, what a blow to be dealt.
